24. The Rear Panel-
The following parts are located on the rear panel (View from left to right)
LAN 1, 2, 3, 4: These ports (1, 2, 3, 4) connect the router to the local PC(s).
WAN: This WAN port is connecting the DSL/cable Modem, or Ethernet.
TCP/IP configuration:-
The default IP address of the Router is 192.168.1.1. And the Subnet Mask is
255.255.255.0. These values can be changed as desire.
Connect the local PC to the LAN ports of the router. And then you can configure the IP
address for PC in the following two ways
Configure the IP address manually
Open a command prompt, and type ping 192.168.1.1 –t and then press ENTER.

26. Quick Installation:-
1. To access the configuration utility, open a web-browser and type in the default
address
http://192.168.1.1 in the address field of the browser.
After a moment, a login window will appear. Admin for the User Name and
Password, both in lower case letters. Then click the OK button or press the ENTER key.
Note: If the above screen does not pop-up, it means that your Web-browser has been set to a proxy. Go to Tools
menu>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings, in the screen that appears, cancel the Using Proxy checkbox, and
click OK to finish it.

o If after selecting "Required, Alternate Port" you are still unable to send or
receive mail, you may need to do the following - close Eudora, locate the
Eudora installation folder, open the "extrastuff" folder found within and
copy the file "esoteric.epi" into the installation directory, run Eudora, and
open the options page. There is now a "Ports" tab; select it, then set SMTP
Port to 465, POP Port to 995 and IMAP Port to 993.
o In general, for a "Windows Terminal Server" you may want to do the following
- locate the Eudora installation folder, edit the "deudora.ini" file, and
add/change: IMAPPort=993, SMTPPort=465, and POPPort=995. This
will insure the mail-client is secure for users that do not have these values
set in their desktop eudora.ini file.
o For users that have a eudora.ini in their desktop, and contains values for
IMAPPort, and/or SMTPPort, and/or POPPort, and wish to have secure e-
mail, the file must be edited to change the values for: IMAPPort=993,
SMTPPort=465, and POPPort=995. This will insure the mail-client is
secure.
8. The first time you check e-mail with Eudora using the secure STARTTLS
protocol, you might get an error...

which signed the certificate for your mail-server. The Math Faculty is now using
Thawte certificates and all versions of Eudora that support STARTTLS will honour our
certificate, but if for some reason the error message still occurs perform the
following steps:
