Soyabean Sector Strategy (vision, purpose, strategy,
interventions, target, outputs):
1. Vision, purpose, strategy and outcomes
Vision:
Reduce poverty and improve income & livelihood to produced case crop of Soyabena (both women
and men), traders, landless and women heads of households of the southern coastal chars region.
Purpose:
• Improving market facilities and the terms of access for rural men and women to markets
• Increasing the income for ultra poor and women during project period and increasing local
value addition
Considering strategies for implementation:
1. Interventions will focus mainly on high value market opportunities for small char producers
and on build market and economic opportunities, which benefit the entire community
2. Focus on selected interventions which results greater impact
3. Implement interventions in the southern coastal chars region following the PRISM approach
of IDE-Bangladesh.
Expected outcomes:
1. Increase income of 80% of target households (direct and indirect) by 10-15% by improving
access to proper technologies/services/management in the Southern coastal region
2. 2. A total of 90 service providers will improve their capacity by public and/or private companies
and provide better service to the clients in tomato market
3. Cultivating land increase for better employment and gender opportunity of Soyabean
production.
