This document provides an agenda for a workshop on procurement and innovation. The workshop will discuss how the new EU public procurement directive encourages the procurement of innovative solutions in works, supplies, and services contracts. It will cover defining innovation and its importance. It will also explore procedures to promote innovation, such as incorporating innovation into different stages of procurement like specifications, selection, evaluation and contract management. Objective
The aim of the day is to provide insight, using discussion of the law and case studies, into how the new
EU public sector procurement Directive is encouraging the procurement of innovation in the context of
works, supplies and services contracts. We will also consider some of the practical issues associated with
procuring innovation.
