Technical skills
 Construction of a 3-D model of water saturation (Sw) capable of describing water front progress as well as water
fingering mechanisms using OH logs and TDT data recorded between July 1997 and March 2003. The model is being
used as a planning tool for well planning, intervention / performance and as a history matching tool with dynamic
models. The project results were presented to shareholders during technical meetings. The water saturation data
incorporated in the model are from TDT logs recorded in 121 wells, openhole logs from 25 recently drilled vertical
wells and 60 horizontal wells. Furthermore, this project was a good opportunity to incorporate Reservoir Engineering
and Geophysical aspects and to build a constructive multidisciplinary teamwork. In terms of interpolation method,
simple arithmetic interpolation was used to derive the water saturation for some reservoir units and the porosity was
used as a weighting factor to re-scale the water saturation in order to minimize the dense intervals impact showing
high Sw values for other units. Volumetric calculation of remaining STOIIP using the new water saturation model
was also performed in order to be compared to initial STOIIP and actual cumulative produced volume from the field.
 Construction of fully integrated 3D geological models (structural framework and properties distribution) of three
major carbonated reservoirs in UAE integrating all available data such as: petrophysics, seismic, sedimentology and
sequences stratigraphy. Fine scale static models were subsequently converted in collaboration with reservoir
simulation engineers to coarse simulation grid with up-scaled properties for reservoir dynamic simulation.
 Carbonate fractured reservoir geological modelling using (RC)2 software of Abiod reservoir in Sidi El Kilani field
(Tunisia), well data correlation, prepare geological subsurface interpretation in collaboration with geophysicist and
reservoir engineering team, construct subsurface maps and cross sections, advise on the selection of appraisal and
development well locations.
 From December 1996 to March 1997: Well Site Geologist hired by ¨ Maxus Energy Co. ¨ during the drilling, logging
and testing of the offshore well ZEMBRA # 1 (Gulf of Tunis). Compilation of Final geological well report.
 From April 1997 to June 1997: Production Geologist working for ¨Gaither Petroleum Corp.¨ in field production
optimization and work-over program. Country of activity: Houston / Texas - USA.
 Mud logging, well sitting geology, drilling parameters monitoring, core / cutting description, coring
and casing point pick.
 Provided assistance and inputs to Reservoir Management and Reservoir Simulation for well planning
and development scenarios based on the results of the water front advance modelling study. Run the 3D geo-model
model on PETREL or RMS softwares and provide assistance to Reservoir Management as needed in terms of
selection of new well location, development scenarios and horizontalization trajectory. Provide inputs of the up-scaled
simulation grid issued from the geo-model, assist Reservoir simulation in all geo-modelling aspects related to
performing the new simulation study. Provide assistance to Operation Geology using 3D geological model and Well
Planning module.
