3/2016- 6/2016 Contracted through NES Global to Siemens at the Liberty generating
plant in Towanda Pennsylvania as a BOP Commissioning Mechanic. The plant is in the
final commissioning phase of two SGT6- 8000H combine cycle units with two Vogt
HRSG’s and associated BOP equipment.
9/2015- 2/2016 Contracted through Sizemore Company to Southern Company at the
Kemper County Coal Gasification project in Kemper County Mississippi as a
Construction/ Startup Coordinator. The duties of the Coordinator is to plan and build
daily work packages for the NDE team to inspect questionable assets in the field.
Alternate duties include Team safety awareness via Southern Company and Mississippi
powers safety programs. I have 1- NDE supervisor and 5-15, NDE inspectors under my
charge. The inspection work being performed is PMI, UT, and BHN.
5/15- 9/15 Working as a Field Service Engineer for Oil Field Solutions Limited.
Conducted Power Turbine change out on Pratt and Whitney FT8 Twin packs for
Seminole Electric. Fulfilled Operations, Maintenance and Training support on Pratt and
Whitney FT8 mobile packs in Mexico City and Chetumal Mexico. Also completed
removal and installs of P&W FT-4000 experimental units in Aberdeen Maryland.
10/2014- 4/2015 Contracted as a Mechanical Startup commissioning Tech with Precision
Resource Company for the Mill Creek environmental upgrade for Louisville Gas and
Electric coal plant. Equipment consists of a Clyde Bergman Pulse air bag house system
and a Babcock So2 wet scrubber.
9/2014- 10/2014 Contracted with Technical Diagnostic Services to perform Start Up and
Commissioning of a three pump, crude oil pump station for Enbridge Inc. The Station
consists of 3 Toshiba driven Sulzer forwarding pumps at the Ortonville Michigan facility.
11/2012- 5/2014 Contracted with Jubail Water and Power, of Jubail Saudi Arabia,
working in the capacity of O&M, Warranty consultant. The Plant consists of 12 GE
Frame 7 FA Combustion turbines in combine cycle with Doosan Hrsg’s and 4 GE Steam
turbines. The Plant produces 2745 MW and the water plant produces 800,000 m3/day of
potable water to the region through the desalinization of seawater with 27 Sidem MED
desal units.
9/2012-11/12 Contracted as Startup commissioning Lead Operator on the Kiewit Marsh
Landing Power Project in Antioch California. Collateral duties consisted of Lockout/Tag
2. out and work authorization control authority. The plant consists of 4- Siemans 5000F
units in simple cycle configuration. The DCS is Siemans T3000.
3/2012- 8/2012 ProEnergy Services
Working for the Tech Services Group at the CVG-A site in Puerto Ordaz Venezuala. I am
the project Operational Lead in the commissioning of the plant gas compressors and the
GE Frame 7E combustion turbine.
6/2011- 3/2012
Working for the Technical Services Group of ProEnergy Services as the Operations
Manager for the La Raisa Power Project, La Raisa Venezuala. I managed two American
Expatriots and twenty four Venezuelan Nationals. The plant consists of three Pratt &
Whitney FT8 Twinpaks and two GE LM-6000’s.and all the supporting BOP.
9/2010-6/2011 Contracted with Wood Group HIT, working for Marathon Oil in Malabo,
Equatorial Guinea, West Africa. Developing a GE Frame 5 Training course to train EG
Nationals. Units consisted of, Power generation units in simple cycle, and units that are
natural gas compressors.
6/2010- 9/2010 Contracted with Pro Energy Services as a Start up and Commissioning Operator
on the combine cycle phase at the Termo Colon Power Project , Colon Panama. Project consists
2- GE frame 7E’s,1- GE Steam turbine. Completed all HRSG internal inspections prior to unit
closure. Supervised unit 100 & 200 HRSG steam blows, in addition to plant personnel OJT
training on the in plant systems.
2/2010- 5/2010 Contracted as Power Plant Supervisor With McGrath Light & Power in
McGrath AK. Operated and performed light maintenance on 1-Cat 3512, and 1-Cat 3508 Diesels.
12/2009- 1/2010 Contracted as Lockout Tagout, and Work Authorization Control Authority on
a GE Frame 7FA one on one combine cycle cogeneration plant For the Kiewit Thorold Power
Project in Thorold Ontario Canada
06/2009-10/2009 Contracted as a Start up and Commissioning Operations Shift Supervisor on
the Termo Colon Power Project in Colon Panama for Pro Energy Services. The project consists
of two GE Frame 7B upgraded to 7E in the first phase of construction in simple cycle.
02/2009-05/2009 Contracted as a Start up and Commissioning Operations Shift Supervisor on
the Panoche LMS 100 Project for Kiewit Construction. The project consists of four GE LMS100
Combustion turbines, controlled by GE MK-VIe controls and balance of plant controlled by
Ovation control system. Collateral Duties include Lock out Tag out and Work Authorization
Control Authority. Operated systems as needed and worked through commissioning flushes and
final sign off of all systems as completed.
2007-2009 Wholesale Power Marketing- PNM
Transferred to WPM with Public Service Company of New Mexico as a Real Time
Trader II Power Scheduler.
Afton Generating Station- PNM
3. Hired on as a CRO and have been upgraded to Working Forman and Senior
Working Forman with Public Service Company of New Mexico to Startup
andcommission a one on one GE 7FA combine cycle build out . The build
out consisted of the tie in of a GE A10 steam turbine and a Alborg HRSG.
The turbines are controlled by GE MK-VI and balance of plant is controlled
by Foxboro controls. The plant is a zero discharge facility.
2003- 2007 Luna Energy- (NAES) North American Energy Services
Transferred to Luna Energy Facility with NAES as a control room operator
to complete a startup and commissioning on a two on one GE 7FA and D11
plant in Deming New Mexico. The HRSG’s were Alborg units The plant
controls system was Delta V with the turbines being controlled with GE MK-
VI. The facility is a zero discharge plant.
Covert Generating- PG&E_NEGT/ NAES
Hired on as a Shift Supervisor/CRO for start up and operation and
maintenance of three MHI 501G Gas Turbines, MHI Steam Turbines and
three Deltak HRSG’s. As a Shift Supervisor/CRO I was responsible for the
safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the plant and directly
supervise 2-14 O&M Techs on a 7 on 7 off rotating work schedule. I am also
the safety committee chairman , in which I have implemented many safety
procedures and developed plant wide safety awareness.
2002-2003 Southaven Power LLC. Cogentrix
Hired on as a Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator for start up of a
810 MW Combined cycle merchant power plant consisting of three GE 7FA
gas turbines and three GE A10 steam turbines with Alborg HRSG’s and
associated water and steam equipment.
2000-2002 Chugach Electric Association
As a Beluga Power Plant Operation and Maintenance Supervisor for the blue
shift I supervised 15 full-time employees and up to 30 employees during
major outages. The plant equipment under my supervision includes two ABB
11DN combine cycle units, one ABB steam turbine with two Babcock &
Wilcox HRSG’s, two GE Frame 5’s and two GE frame 7E’s, one complete
shop facility with the abilities to complete major overhauls on all units. The
plant is 40 air miles from Anchorage. We worked 7 days on &7 days off, 12
hour shifts. We lived in a man camp facility while at the site .
1995-2000 Dynegy Power Corp.
Completed Plant start up at Rocky Road Power Facility, a simple cycle 250
MW Peaking Plant, as a Dynegy employee working as part of a support
group out of the Michigan Power Plant. Duties performed were operations
assistant start up coordinator, while conducting maintenance and operation
support on equipment that was accepted as complete. The equipment
consisted of two Westinghouse W501D5A combustion Turbines and one GE
LM5000 Aerodirivitive combustion turbine, fueled solely on natural gas.
Dynegy Power Corp.(Destec)
4. Participated in a 123 MW combined cycle power plant start up as ashift lead
operator, operating one GE frame 7 EA gas turbine and one GE 45 MW
steam turbine with GE MK 5 control system. The balance of plant consisted
of a Deltak 1550 psi HRSG and two Nebraska 450 psi auxiliary boilers with
the balance of plant control system consisting of Westinghouse WDPF .
While in operations I was the operations assistant supervisor, the job
consisted of planning and estimating for outages, daily routine, and plant
safety program. As plant safety supervisor I initiated many safe operating
procedures and safety check sheets. As of June 1997 I moved to the
maintenance department as lead mechanic, performing all maintenance and
preventive maintenance tasks On the balance of plant and Steam cycle.
1992-1995 Ogden Martin of Kent ( Covanta)
As a Boiler operations technician, I operated and performed maintenance on
two Keeler Doer Oliver 850 psi garbage fired boilers, which supplied steam
to one 24 MW Turbodyne steam turbine generator. The plant was controlled
with a Moore control system and Woodward governor system for the Steam
turbine. Plant emission controls were of Flakt variety, consisting of a lime
injection and baghouse configuration for SO2 control. All ash and fuel
handling systems were operated and maintained by operations personnel.
1990-1992 Central Michigan University
As a journeyman boiler operator and shift lead operator, I operated and
maintained one A type Nebraska 850 psi bio-mass boiler, burning wood
chips as it’s sole fuel source with two Wickes gas/oil burning 400 psi boilers
and associated auxiliary equipment. The plant used a wet bottom emissions
control system mainly for opacity control. The Plant had a Hayward control
system.
1981-1989 US Navy
June 1986 - December 1989 Attended and completed US Navy Instructor
training course for Boiler Instructor. Was assigned to 1200 psi training
facility Service School Command, Great Lakes Naval Training Station.
Position duties included were instruction and operations and maintenance of
1200 psi plant consisting of two 1200 psi CE Walsend boilers. Associated
equipment consisted of Boiler feed pumps, Boiler feed booster pumps,
Deairating Feed tank.Performed daily Boiler chemistry.
June 1984 - June 1986 Stationed on the USS Wm. V. Pratt DDG-44 as a
boiler technician second class. Performed forward fireroom assistant
supervisor duties on two 1200 psi Babcock and Wilcox Marine Boilers and
associated equipment.
December 1981- June 1984 While being stationed on the USS Bowen FF-
1079 as a Boiler Technician Fireman operated and performed maintenance
on two CE Walsend 1200 psi marine boilers and associated pumps, valves
and systems.
