IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPASS

and transform the cultural dissemination in a way Quality Management System or
Compliance Management System is implemented and managed at the
organization. There are four stages through which the COMPASS can be
implemented.
4 STAGES OF COMPASS IMPLEMENTATION

7. STAGE 1 BASE LINE
The organization that intends to implement COMPASS first carries out a
self-assessment to find out the current maturity level. The in-built Maturity
Assessment Engine will assist in assessing and base-lining the current maturity
level. This assessment can be on Process or Technology or Privacy related
domains. There are three different levels namely Basic, Advanced and Expert in
which the assessment can be performed.
• The Process Maturity Score will reflect how strong
the culture for process orientation exists!!
• The Technology Maturity curve will exhibit how well
the information Confidentiality and Integrity is
managed!!
• The Privacy Score will facilitate setting up of Privacy
Frame work!!

STAGE 2 BENCHMARK
In this phase, the organization selects the standards in lieu with assessments,
wherein the best practices are required and needs to be implemented for its
promulgation. The standard requirements can be created in the software and
interpretations versus each clause of the standard shall be captured.
The ISO 9001 standard knowledge base infused along with the software has
been used for creating a strong Quality Management System.
• The standard interpretation knowledge base helps adoption of new practices!!
• The framework will help building knowledge base of your own experience!!
8. www.btrans.in | www.kompaz.in 8
STAGE 3 INTERNALIZE
The standard requirements are internalized and linkage between the standard
and internal processes will be well established in this stage. Firstly, various
departments inside the organization are created. Furthermore, business
processes owned by each department are then defined and categorized as
Management, Core and Support Processes respectively. These processes in turn
mapped to standard requirements and specific clauses of standard.
The desired document hierarchy is then chosen and documents are loaded
completely on to cloud.
• The Documentation Hierarchy is strengthened for future expansion!!
• The Voice of the standard is internalized!!
• The documents are hosted on the cloud for “Any time -Anywhere” access!!
• The system auto-generates system improvements and tracks the history!!
• The Audit checklists are populated and archived for all audits!!
• SWOT analysis exhibits the unique way of representing the outcome of audit!!
• Business Intelligence on Audit Management System is auto-populated!!
STAGE 4 MBWA
This is the most critical phase in which a detailed Process Map (Master Process
Plan) is created with the frequency of audits planned that needs to be
implemented. The audit checklist for each business process is created and
controls that are expected to be implemented by process owner will be
captured.
The profiles of qualified internal auditors are then created and Audit Schedule is
auto-generated. The audits are conducted using the pre-defined audit
checklists and “COMPLAINCE MATRIX” is generated.
The Auditors will create department specific SWOT and populate
Non-Conformance reports. The System then auto-generates the audit report
and populates the Business Intelligence on Audit Knowledge Management
System.
