I am a Project Planning and Management specialist with proven experience/competencies in
project feasibility study, community mobilization, stakeholders mapping and engagement, project
cycle management, organizational value driven leadership, training and capacity development
curriculum design and knowledge development and facilitation. I have over seventeen years’
experience in designing, managing, improving, and tracking social, economic, environmental,
health, gender and related development project in Kenya and the IGAD region. Besides, I have
proven acumen in Policy Research, Policy Formulation and Policy Paper writing and validation.
I have an impressive technical knowledge of sustainable development programming and in-depth
understanding of the social and contextual factors affecting realization of meaningful engagement
of critical population segments in implementation of sustainable development programmes and
projects as well as profound skills in designing pro-poor development strategies.
I have practical working experience with grants and proposal writing and contract negotiations.
Chief among my core competencies in this area are:
(a) Grants for Grassroots Projects (GGP) as implemented by the Embassy of Japan in Kenya
having successfully bided for and implemented a project entitled, “The Project for the
Construction of two Dormitories and Perimeter Wall at Ogande Special School for the

(b) I am quite conversant working in an intergovernmental and bilateral donor-funded
framework having conceived, developed and implemented an integrated urban planning
and development project entitled, “Symbiocity Pilot Programme Mbita Urban Renewal

(c) I have also had an interesting opportunity working with Hon. Dr. Hezron Otieno
McObewa and Mr. Peter McOdida on the development of Center for Disease Control’s
project proposal under Notice of Funding Opportunity Number: CDC-RFA-GH20-2084.
The project is funded under Cooperative Agreement Number: NU2GGH002326 to a tune
of Kshs. 1.35 billion for a period of 5 years starting 2020. The Grantee Name: COUNTY
GOVERNMENT OF HOMA BAY.
(d) I negotiated and presently implementing a 5-year partnership agreement between
KEYOPI Society, TradeAid Trust Fund and Just be a Child Charity UK. The partnership
seeks to promote a reading culture among Kenyan children and youth in and out of schools
through sourcing, sorting, shipment and distribution of books and early years education
teaching-learning materials and vocational training centers’ training tools and equipment
in Homa Bay, Kisii, Kilifi, Kisumu and Nyamira Counties in Kenya – ref:-

In the past decade, I have had opportunities to be a part of teams that worked on and developed
the following documents:
(a) Prepared Training Manual and Facilitated Resource Mobilization and Organizational
Development Strategy Workshop for the Kenya Leather Development Council (K-LDC) - March
11-18, 2012- at Cray-Fish Camp, Naivasha.
(b) Prepared Monitoring and Evaluation Capacity Building and Training Manual for Jamii Thabiti
Programme Implementation Partners under contract by Coffey International Development
Limited, a Tetra Tech Company. The program’s IATI Identifier No. is GB-COH-3799145-781-
205288KE. Jamii Thabiti is a DFID funded programme to address three types of violence: criminal
violence, inter-communal violence and violence against women and girls (VAWG) in eight
counties: Kisumu, Bungoma, Wajir, Mandera Nakuru, Baringo, Kwale and Kilifi. Ref:

(c) In 2013, while consulting for Progeny International, I joined a team of consultants from Institute

(d) In May 2017, Innovation Norway East Africa and The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi
contracted me to conduct a DESK STUDY on Identification of Opportunities for Norwegian
Businesses in Enhancement of Value Chains in the Kenyan Agriculture Sector. Other consultants
who supported the assignment included Team leader Jose Ramos MSc. Mariela Covault Tyrihjell
and Dr. Kenneth Kambona of Developmentshift Consulting.
(e) Between 14 July 2021 and 30 September 2022 July 2021 and September 2022, Eurecna S.p.A
under Contract No. contracted me for the position of a Non-Key Expert – Monitoring and
Evaluation within the framework of the project, “Instruments for Devolution Advise and Support
– Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Devolution and Planning (IDEAS) funded by the

(f) In 2021, as a consultant with Institute of Applied Studies and Research, I researched on
and develop a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) on Kenya’s Ratification of the African
Medicines Agency (AMA) Treaty on behalf of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. The Cost-
Benefit Analysis presented a business case for ratifying the AMA Treaty by the Government of
Kenya, determined and presented a technical policy brief on the value propositions to enable
policy and decision makers in Kenya to make informed choices and determine whether to ratify
the AMA Treaty or not. The document aided the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare a brief to
the National Assembly as a requirement for authorizing the Head of State to commit Kenya to the

(g) In 2022, I assisted the Horn of Africa Youth Network and Save the Children
International to draft and validate the IGAD Youth Policy (2022) that is now undergoing
IGAD Ministerial Council Validation process preceding ratification by Heads of States
and Government in the mid-February 2023.

I hold Masters of Arts in Project Planning and Management from the University Of Nairobi,
Kenya. I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Nairobi in the School of Business and

(f) Successfully negotiated for donation of and facilitated
Vocational Training tools and equipment from various
Development Partners in the United Kingdom, leading to
distribution of tools and equipment to 13 VTCs in Homa
Bay County between 2018 and 2022.
(g) Successfully sourced for a partnership between Just be a
Child Charity UK and County Government of Homa bay
for purposes of promoting reading culture among children
and young readers. The partnership led to development of
Omiro Community Library, Ndhiwa Community Library
and direct distribution of reading and teaching materials to
over 45 public primary schools and 17 secondary schools.
The partnership also saw Tom Mboya University receive a
total of 6,500 library books and reference materials
between 2021 and 2022. The partnership has also donated
a total of 115 school microscopes and 90,000 pencils to
various public primary and secondary schools within Homa
Bay County, Kenya.

About the Program
The SymbioCity Pilot Project in Mbita Town aimed to identify
opportunities and launch initiatives to enhance sustainable urban
development within Mbita Town. The project was implemented
between 2016 and 2021.

monitoring and evaluation, partnership and resources
management of the Program.

 Over saw the implementation of both Quick Win and Change

technical support as needed.

 Improved Mbita Urban Infrastructure including the
establishment of Mbita Fish Market at Uyoga Kombe Beach,
Installation of 4Nos Solar Powered Security Flood Lights
within the newly established market; installation of a total of 39
colour-coded liter bins for solid waste management; installation
of 25 street benches at strategic open spaces within Mbita Town
and purchased 300 fully branded Life Saver Jackets for use
within 7 Beach Management Units within Mbita Town. The
Program also constructed to successful completion 1No Bio-
digester Toilet within the Mbita Fish Market.

I have over seventeen years’ experience in designing, managing, improving, and tracking social, economic, environmental, health, gender and related development project in Kenya and the IGAD region. (b) Prepared Monitoring and Evaluation Capacity Building and Training Manual for Jamii Thabiti Programme Implementation Partners under contract by Coffey International Development Limited, a Tetra Tech Company. (e) Between 14 July 2021 and 30 September 2022 July 2021 and September 2022, Eurecna S.p.A under Contract No. contracted me for the position of a Non-Key Expert – Monitoring and Evaluation within the framework of the project, “Instruments for Devolution Advise and Support – Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Devolution and Planning (IDEAS) funded by the European Union Delegation to Kenya – ref: https://www.devolution.go.ke/instruments-for- devolution-advice-and-support-ideas/ (f) In 2021, as a consultant with Institute of Applied Studies and Research, I researched on and develop a Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) on Kenya’s Ratification of the African Medicines Agency (AMA) Treaty on behalf of the Pharmacy and Poisons Board. The Cost- Benefit Analysis presented a business case for ratifying the AMA Treaty by the Government of Kenya, determined and presented a technical policy brief on the value propositions to enable policy and decision makers in Kenya to make informed choices and determine whether to ratify the AMA Treaty or not. (f) Successfully negotiated for donation of and facilitated Vocational Training tools and equipment from various Development Partners in the United Kingdom, leading to distribution of tools and equipment to 13 VTCs in Homa Bay County between 2018 and 2022. (g) Successfully sourced for a partnership between Just be a Child Charity UK and County Government of Homa bay for purposes of promoting reading culture among children and young readers. The partnership led to development of Omiro Community Library, Ndhiwa Community Library and direct distribution of reading and teaching materials to over 45 public primary schools and 17 secondary schools. The partnership also saw Tom Mboya University receive a total of 6,500 library books and reference materials between 2021 and 2022. The partnership has also donated a total of 115 school microscopes and 90,000 pencils to various public primary and secondary schools within Homa Bay County, Kenya. PROGRAM LEVEL Pilot Coordinator, Symbiocity Pilot Program, Homa Bay County About the Program The SymbioCity Pilot Project in Mbita Town aimed to identify opportunities and launch initiatives to enhance sustainable urban development within Mbita Town. The project was implemented between 2016 and 2021. Specialization:  Technical direction in program design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, partnership and resources management of the Program.
