Content - Canteens in Aarhus Municipality
Started with developing a common standard to preparation of the financial
statements. Took responsibility to incorporate special VAT rules in the
statements. Developed analysis to distinguish between profitable and non-
profitable canteens and then initiated actions to turn around the non-
profitable canteens.
- Budget control
Had the responsibility for the budget control for the rental properties. A
huge part of the time was spend with making the report to budget control. I
managed to change the process so we made a standard in the reporting and
the time therefore could be spend on discussing deviations and actions with
management.
- VAT
The public sector in Denmark are reporting VAT after two kind of rules. My
responsibility was to investigate and understand both set of rules and
incorporate them in the accounting. I managed contact with authorities and
lawyers and prepared papers to management.
- Controlling the quality of the accounting
Had the responsibility to control the quality of the accounting in the
department with focus on errors related to VAT and accounting rules in
Denmark. Carried samples to control for fraud and reported to management
on both areas.
