This conditioning is often times relatable to someone feeling trapped with their “golden handcuffs.”
The stable career, the nice house, a couple of vacations each year and a retirement account they can`t even to.

Let me ask you a question…
When was the last time you were fully engaged in an activity and time just flew by?
Was it fun? You bet!
That`s because when you`re doing
something you enjoy, something
meaningful and purposeful, no matter how
stressful the activity is, you seem to go on
and on without actually feeling stressed
out.
Now, on the other side, a 70 hour week in
an unfulfilling job is not fun. I think we both
agree on that!

As Jay Setthy says in the video, there may be a lot of valid reasons why so many people
with massive potential stay in their supposedly, safe and secure jobs, instead of chasing
something they love, something that means more to them.
How safe are they these days? I`m not sure.
When I was growing up, nobody taught me about meaning, fulfillment or even pushed me
to pursue my dreams and passions…

2. We are so brainwashed by society, you know, we`re conditioned to think that life is about
getting that formal education, the good job and climbing the ladder to eventually one day
retire with enough of a nest egg to live comfortably.
This seems to be society`s default setting, so to speak.
This conditioning is often times relatable to someone feeling trapped with their “golden
handcuffs.”
The stable career, the nice house, a couple of vacations each year and a retirement
account they can`t even get to.
This is called the middle class. These are billions of people settling for comfort rather than
chasing their potential, bragging about how good they have it compared to someone living
in a third world country.

These golden handcuffs are the number one reason why people don`t go after what they
really want to do.
They`re living someone else`s life, inside of a bubble, stuck with the beliefs of the general
public, the high paying salary, the big benefits associated with their position and feeling
miserable every time they think about going to work.
When I reflect back on my journey, there was no amount of money that could ever confine
me to the traditional corporate system. The model just didn`t work for me and I`m pretty
sure it doesn’t work for most people either.
For those who are looking to have a bigger impact on the world, a traditional job is nothing
more than a mere trap.
The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique. Walt

I mean, how much impact can you have on other people`s lives when you`re tied to a
paycheck, answering to a boss and choking down the reason why you exist?

3. Let`s face it, the conventional thinking is not reserved for those who want to live their best
life. Society has been very effective at suppressing people`s dreams and ambitions.
“Don`t stand out” – your mom says, “be grateful, you`re so much better off than our
neighbors” – your dad, proudly admits.
These are the kind of beliefs that condition people to give up on chasing their “why”, the
fulfillment and the happiness of a life worth living.
I love the advice Jay gives in the video.
He`s a true master communicator. Finding
what you really want to get out of life
means that you have to experiment some
stuff to figure out what works best for you.
For some people, they may have to go
through all lot of stuff to find that one thing
they`re good at and enjoy.
So, if there`s one thing I would like you to get out of this piece of content is: please do not
settle for less than what you`re capable of. And you probably already know that…
But think about the person you want to be in 10 years time.Look at your boss, your
older friends or co-workers and ask yourself: “is that the person I want to become?”
Then, knowing who you don`t want to become, you`ll be in a position to better understand
yourself and get a feel for what your best life could look like.
Much success,
