• Promoting the general well-being of people with developmental disabilities and
borderline personality disorders.
- Coordinates and participates in the development of resident Individual
Habilitation Plans/ IHP in cooperation with residents, Arc staff, Division of
Developmental Disabilities staff, parent and/or guardian, and day program staff
- The ability to communicate and provide direct assistance required to
residents
- Plans, supervises, and monitors the implementation of residents IHP’s
- Monitors all medical care of resident (both routine and emergency)
- Monitors financial status and records of residents
- Monitors all in-house client training. Reviews and approves all lesson plans
prior to use
- Audits all medication to assure the proper administration and procedures are
followed through correctly
• Providing education, training, and support in daily activities of residents.
- Providing transportation for all residents needs
- Community activities
- Recreational activities
• Responsible for the total operation of the program (resident, personal, facility, and
fiscal)
- Works in cooperation with Assistant Program Supervisor, is considered
on-call 24 hours per day for emergencies requiring supervisory decisions
- Attends monthly supervisor’s meetings
- Maintains use of community resources, including transportation,
recreation, volunteers, and tutors.
- Screens and supervises all volunteers that interface with programs
- Makes recommendations on the hire, continuation, and termination of
employment of subordinates
- Works with The Arc of Cape May County and Division of Developmental
Disabilities (DDD) in any inspection or investigations
- Works in a safe manner, reports safety hazards, follows safety procedures,
and encourage and oversee subordinates do the same
• Carrying out the behavioral and health interventions and treatment plans of
residents.
- Scheduling doctor appointments
- Writing out medication sheets and dispensing medications for residents
- Case manager meetings
- Budgeting funds for clients food and clothing for each year
• Conducts staff evaluations and makes necessary recommendations
- Assures that all staff has been properly trained and are fully aware of their
duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for training and supervision of all staff and volunteers
- Assumes role of subordinate staff when necessary and directs the work of
subordinates
• Administrative/ Fiscal
- Responsible for administrative and fiscal requirements as outlined in
residential Operating manual
- Supervises accurate documentation in regards to but not limited to the
following: Resident’s files, Medication Records, Personal Files, Fire Drill
Logs, Financial Records, Incident/ Accident Reports, Program Log
- Completes/ Supervises residents monthly IHP reports
- Maintains accurate financial records for program and residents
- Maintains appropriate staffing patterns and schedules, arranges emergency
coverage when on-call, and notifies staff of any and all changes in
schedule, schedules vacations, time-off, and coverage for staff
- Additional as directed by The Arc administrative staff
• Maintain and organize records and log.
