The Challenge:
With a growing set of natural products including breads, protein bars, pasta, and
other baked goods; coupled with an expanding set of customers, Julian Bakery
needed to automate and streamline their shipping process. Their aggressive growth
was causing the following issues:
 A mix of wholesale and retail orders, a more complex product mix was
straining the warehouse team in selecting the right packaging
 Selecting and using the right shipping options was resulting in excessive
shipping costs
 Customer visibility to order delivery status and tracking was not real time
The Solution:
Julian Bakery implemented OzLINK Shipping. The solutions pulls sales orders from
QuickBooks, automating the selection of boxes or envelopes based on the products
in the order. Additional business rules select either OnTrac for west coast custom-
ers or USPS the rest of the country. Finally, at ship time an automated branded e-
mail is sent to the customer confirming the order contents and providing the tracking
information. The results are:
 Order fulfillment was more automated, cutting processing time by 63%
 Shipping errors and costs were reduced dramatically
