3. Invisalign Summerlin braces are virtually
invisible as they are constructed from clear
plastic. There are no metal parts, which means
that you can smile confidently throughout the
entire teeth straightening process. Invisalign
braces are also removable so you can take out
the brace whenever you want to eat or drink, or
brush your teeth. This inevitably helps you to
maintain better oral health during your
Invisalign treatment.
4. Summerlin Orthodontist can help you get the
best and healthiest smile you can have.
Orthodontists specialize in helping your teeth
and jaws work together so that you can
speak, bite and chew comfortably and
effectively. An added bonus is that teeth and
jaws that work well tend to look good, too.
5. Braces Summerlin are an effective tool for
correcting dental problems such as crooked teeth,
underbites and overbites. Invisible braces are a
newer development in dental braces technology,
making it easy for people of all ages to get the
dental treatments they need without the obvious
presence of metal braces.
6. We are always excited about meeting new
patients during their first visit to our office.
Your initial appointment will consist of a
thorough examination and a discussion of
potential treatment options.
7. There are other options out there for
straightening your teeth, but none offers the
level of comfort, convenience and confidence
that you’ll find with Invisalign. And no
matter what stage you’re at in life, you’ll
appreciate how our cutting-edge approach to
treatment has minimal interference in how you
live, but has a significant positive impact on
how you look and feel about yourself.
8. •Interdental Toothbrush
A Proxabrush is an interdental (between the
teeth) toothbrush that you may use to clean
underneath and around your wires and braces.
Use the Proxabrush gently to avoid damaging
your wires. The Proxabrush will help you to
clean your braces while maintaining healthy
teeth and gums.
9. • Antibacterial Mouthwash
Peroxyl can be used for general irritation
caused by your braces or for canker sores, cheek
bites and other minor temporary injuries to the
gums.
• Topical Fluoride
Phos-Flur is a sodium fluoride gel that helps
prevent tooth decay while you are wearing
braces by killing bacteria and replacing minerals
in tooth enamel that have been exposed to
harmful acids.
• Cleaning Your Removable Appliance
Brush your removable appliance every day and
you will prevent plaque and bacterial
accumulation.
10. • Poking Wire
Sometimes discomfort caused by a wire on
your braces can be resolved by moving the wire
away from the irritated area with a cotton
swab or eraser. If the wire is painful, you can
cut it with nail clippers or scissors that have
been washed and sterilized in alcohol. If you
cannot resolve the wire irritation, call our
office for an appointment.
• General Soreness
During the first week after your braces are in
place and routine adjustments are complete,
you will likely feel some pain, soreness or
discomfort. You may take acetaminophen or
other non-aspirin pain relievers while you
adjust to your new braces.
11. • Loose Bracket
If you need to cut a wire in case of emergency,
you may use fingernail clippers that have been
washed and sterilized in alcohol. Please call
our office the next business day, so that we
may schedule an appointment for you.
•Emergency Contact Information
Call our office as soon as possible if you break
or loosen any of your appliances. Even if you
have a regular appointment scheduled, call us
immediately to notify us if you need an
appliance repaired.
12. While brushing, use a toothbrush with soft
bristles and a small strip of fluoride toothpaste.
When you brush your teeth, move the brush in
small, circular motions to reach food particles
that may be under your gum line. Especially
during orthodontic treatment, brush your teeth
four times daily to avoid the accumulation of
food particles in your teeth and braces:
In the morning after breakfast
After lunch or right after school
After supper
At bedtime
13. For areas between the teeth that a toothbrush
can’t reach, use dental floss to remove food
particles and plaque. Flossing takes more time
and patience when you are wearing braces, but
it is important to floss your teeth every day.
