 E-booking or e-Booking means making
a reservation or appointment for a service via
the internet.
 The term may also refer to, Computer
reservations system operating via the internet.
Online Booking System or Appointment

 A computer booking system is system where
by publicly accessible computers can be reserved
for a period of time.
Tourist and Travel Industry
 An Internet booking engine (IBE) is an
application which helps the travel and tourism
industry support reservation through the
Internet. It helps consumers to book flights,
hotels, holiday packages, insurance and other
services online.
 MAKEMYTRIP, GOIBIBO and other such
web applications are based on IBE.
Hotel Industry
 Online hotel reservations are a popular method
for booking hotel rooms. Travelers can book
rooms on a computer by using online security to
protect their privacy and financial information
and by using several online travel agents to
compare prices and facilities at different hotels.
SPORT & CONCERT TICKETS
 Many sport and concert venues offer electronic
tickets to their events.
 Electronic tickets, or "eTickets" as they are
sometimes referred, are often delivered as PDFs
or another downloadable format that can be
received via email or through a mobile app.
 Electronic tickets allow spectators to download
their tickets, as opposed to waiting for physical
tickets to arrive in the mail.
SPORT & CONCERT TICKETS
 A printed copy of these tickets or a digital copy
on a mobile phone may be presented on coming
to the venue.
 These tickets may also have a barcode, which
may be scanned on entry into the venue to
streamline crowd processing.
 Electronic tickets have become increasingly
prevalent in the entertainment industry over the
last decade.

 Consumers are turning to the internet to take advantage of
ease of booking and comparative pricing. 95% of
consumers search online before making a travel purchase.
 The research indicates that majority of consumers are
comfortable with online ticket booking, but tour packages
and hotels are still booked offine. It indicates that there is a
gap between expectations of consumers and actual facilities
promised by hotels when booked online. Best deals are an
important motivation for customers to go online.
According to our research 36% consumers make unplanned
trips if offered a discount.

 Social media affects purchase decision of 48%
consumers but personal experience of a consumer
affects the decision more than the experience of others.
 According to our research, 41% consumers make a
purchase after receiving a promotional/discount offer
over email and 25% consumers make a purchase after
receiving an offer over SMS.
 It is easier for a desktop user to look at more websites
and switch from one competitor to another. But an app
user is a loyalist; so majority of e-travel companies are
incentivizing the consumers to use their Mobile App.

E-Booking  E-booking or e-Booking means making a reservation or appointment for a service via the internet.  The term may also refer to, Computer reservations system operating via the internet. Online Booking System or Appointment Booking.  A computer booking system is system where by publicly accessible computers can be reserved for a period of time.
  • 3. Tourist and Travel Industry  An Internet booking engine (IBE) is an application which helps the travel and tourism industry support reservation through the Internet. It helps consumers to book flights, hotels, holiday packages, insurance and other services online.  MAKEMYTRIP, GOIBIBO and other such web applications are based on IBE.
  • 4. Hotel Industry  Online hotel reservations are a popular method for booking hotel rooms. Travelers can book rooms on a computer by using online security to protect their privacy and financial information and by using several online travel agents to compare prices and facilities at different hotels.
  • 5. SPORT & CONCERT TICKETS  Many sport and concert venues offer electronic tickets to their events.  Electronic tickets, or "eTickets" as they are sometimes referred, are often delivered as PDFs or another downloadable format that can be received via email or through a mobile app.  Electronic tickets allow spectators to download their tickets, as opposed to waiting for physical tickets to arrive in the mail.

It indicates that there is a gap between expectations of consumers and actual facilities promised by hotels when booked online. Best deals are an important motivation for customers to go online. According to our research 36% consumers make unplanned trips if offered a discount.

Research Facts  Social media affects purchase decision of 48% consumers but personal experience of a consumer affects the decision more than the experience of others.  According to our research, 41% consumers make a purchase after receiving a promotional/discount offer over email and 25% consumers make a purchase after receiving an offer over SMS.  It is easier for a desktop user to look at more websites and switch from one competitor to another.
