A brief insight: For a long time Mustang had been a forbidden land. But recently the Upper
Mustang region has been opened for a limited number of trekkers. Lo Manthang (Mustang)
is located on the north of the main Himalayan chain, between the snow-capped mountains
on the east and the west bordering Tibet. The climate and land in the region is dry and arid
just like a desert. This is the route where you are likely to come across some very
important historical sites such as the 800 year old cave and religious carvings which have
been recently discovered. A cultural King, who is very much loved by the locals, still lives in
this Lomanthang area. Mustang is famous for being an important salt trading post in the
Trans Himalayan belt and is thus yak caravans and traders are a common sight here. This
trek is unlike any other and is sure to give you a lifetime experience and many memories
sights and scenes.
