3. Pharyngitis is
inflammation of the
pharynx,which affects
the “throat’’ and also
called as SORETHROAT.
* It causes scratching in
throat and difficulty in
swallowing.

4. There are various bacterial agents causing pharyngitis
:Causes are :
* Measles
* Common Cold
* Chicken Pox
* Whooping Cough
* Gonorrhea
Viruses are the most common causes of Sore throat
(Pharyngitis)
Pharyngitis is caused by Streptococcus

5. Symptoms of Pharyngitis are :
•Sneezing
•Running nose
•Head ache
•Cough
•Fever
•Chills
•Body pain
•Muscles pain
•Throat pain

8.  Pharyngitis is a type of inflammation caused
by UTI .
 It is classified into 2 types :
 * Acute pharyngitis
 *Chronic pharyngitis
It is sub classified into :
• Tonsillitis
• Nasopharyngitis

10.  PHYSICAL EXAM :
 Doctor will look at the throat and will check for any
white or nay grey patches ,swelling and redness.
 And may also look at the eyes and nose to check foe
swollen lymph node.
 THROAT CULTURE :
 This invoves using a cotton swab to check a sample
of the secretion of the throat.
 Then strep test will be done,within a few minutes
doctor will inform whether the carried test is positive
or not.(Streptococcus bacteria )

11. BLOOD TEST :
Blood sample will be
drawn and send to a lab
for testing for determining
the mononucleosis .
A complete Blood count
test (CBC) will be done to
determine any kind of
infection.

13. TREATMENT
 HOME REMEDIES :
 Drink warm liquids such as lemon tea or tea with
honey.
 Gargle several times a day with warm salt water.
 MEDICAMENTS :
 Try over the counter pain medicine such as
“ACETAMINOPHEN ”
 ANTI BIOTICS
 NSAID’S
 LIDOCAINE
