PALCO is one of the leading underwear and home wear manufacturers in Greece. The company started operating in 1917 and over the years it has expanded its business activities to Greece, Cyprus and globally. Its sales network comprises more than 700 retail spots. Up until recently, PALCO operated in a traditional on premise ERP system, Microsoft Navision, however as the business continues to grow, the need to improve its business model -and especially the manufacturing processes- became vital. PALCO embraced the cloud technology philosophy and replaced its ERP system with the Nubis Cloud ERP™ solution. BUSINESS NEEDS
 PALCO wants to integrate its MRP process and ERP system in one cloud solution in order to have a unified and optimized control over it and gain better scalability along with reduction of costs.
Ever since its founding, PALCO identifies with the market needs and is fast to adapt to an ever changing world, evolving its products and processes along the way constantly. The company emphasizes on research and technology, takes on new investments, and runs quality checks through all stages of manufacturing, from raw material selection to distribution. In 1998, PALCO invested more than 5 million euro in building a new weaving plant equipped with advanced technology machinery. Year 2012 marked yet another turning point in the history of PALCO, as Horizon Capital Management acquired the majority of its shares, a move that effectively launched a new period of dynamic development.
Along the years, the company’s sales network expanded and the need to process high volume of data was crucial. At first and for a period of over 5 years, PALCO relied on a traditional on premise ERP system, Microsoft Navision, for the administration of the manufacturing cycle and overall processes. The system was quite complex as it consisted of 3 different MRP programs, manual entries during the production phases and migration of them to several other software. This resulted in a crucial delay of one day as far as the reporting and the updating of every subsystem is concerned, which also was done in handwritten manner. Meanwhile, the hardware and software upgrading and maintenance costs grew into vastly inefficient, so PALCO needed a scalable management change approach to its business platform.
As Mr. P. Kosmetatos elaborates, the solution PALCO was looking for would be flexible enough to reflect and administer the whole manufacturing process from a unified point of reference efficiently and at considerably reduced cost.
