I have compared Scotland's food culture whit Sweden. And I'll tell you about Scotland's usual food, and how it differs to our Swedish food.
A full Scottish breakfast might include: toast, beans, fried haggis , potato, eggs, back bacon, potato scones , fried mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, Lorne sausange , black pudding, oatcakes, kippers, and porridge, although a breakfast with all of these ingredients might be a bit excessive. The breakfast is also typically paired with Scottish dairy products including milk and cream, along with Scottish jams and preserves. It may be served with black tea and orange juice as well. So, its mostly cooked food
A typical Swedish breakfast can contain different things, but the majority eating yogurt with any kind of flake, such as corn flakes or muesli. Cooked eggs are also ordinary. To this can drink either juice, tea, coffee, milk ...
A typical Scottish dishes are cullen ham, a creamy soup of smoked cod, cock-a-leekie, soup with leeks, chicken and prunes, and of course, haggis. Chip is what we call in Swedish french fries. This can you eat both to lunch and dinner.
Here in Sweden, macaroni and meatballs as common as haggis in Scotland. And as you see in the picture, it's vegetables, and it is not often with them in Scottish dishes.
it is said that no dish is complete without chips in Scotland, and here in Sweden, it is not complete without salad
the number of obese people in Scotland are high and they eat a lot of fried food , while here in Sweden are not that many. Why is it so?
Scotland has not had as high immigrant numbers as Sweden, and their food culture has not changed much Especially during the years. In contrast, Sweden has taken us to our various dishes from different cultures. And because it has a lot of people come here from other countries, we have begun to eat the same food as they have in their cuisine. And this variation in food is not in Scotland.
This is what I have found in my comparison between the Swedish and Scottish food.
