This study compared the use of electrofusion versus sutures for ligating tissue during vaginal hysterectomies. The study included 96 patients undergoing simple vaginal hysterectomy without complications. Patients in the electrofusion group had significantly shorter operating times, less post-operative pain, and shorter hospital stays compared to the suture group. Complication rates were similar between the two groups. The study concluded that electrofusion reduces operating times and post-operative recovery without increasing complication risks.
