DOLPHINS DIVES INTO DALLAS AT
MUSEUM OF NATURE & SCIENCE
Academy Award® Nominated IMAX® Film Now Showing
DALLAS, Texas (June 1, 2011) – This summer, the Museum of Nature &
Science is offering a cool, refreshing, underwater adventure! Dolphins, a new IMAX®
film, takes audiences to the coral reefs of the Bahamas and the seas Patagonia for a deep-
sea romp with graceful, charming wild dolphins. The film, an Academy Award®
nominee for Best Documentary, is now showing at the Museum of Nature & Science.
The film follows three marine biologists as they study the elusive, fast-moving
Atlantic spotted dolphins, acrobatic dusky dolphins, and the more familiar bottlenose
dolphins. The biologists research the communication and behavior of the inquisitive
creatures using creative scientific methods and brand-new technology.
Audiences will see rare fish-herding behavior and evidence of remarkable
intelligence. Dolphins also explores the bond between humans and dolphins by visiting
with dolphins and naturalists in the Turks & Caicos Islands.
“The topic has a wonderful appeal to the public; people want to know more about
how dolphins communicate,” says director and producer Greg MacGillivray. “I wanted

to make a film that offered insight into these intelligent marine mammals and that
revealed the wonder of their habitat, the ocean, and our need to preserve it.”
Dolphins is narrated by acclaimed actor Pierce Brosnan and features the music of
Grammy-award winning artist Sting. It is produced and distributed by MacGillivray
Freeman Films in association with the National Wildlife Federation, the nation's largest
member-supported conservation group, and with major funding provided by the National
Science Foundation and Museum Film Network. Behind-the-scenes photos, scientific
journal entries and details on the movie are available at www.dolphinsfilm.com. The
trailer is available online at the Museum’s YouTube channel, MNSDallas.
