DBA Construction recently completed reconstruction of an aircraft parking apron at the Coolidge Municipal Airport in Arizona. The original concrete from 1944 was deteriorating and cracking. DBA Construction was awarded a $719,000 contract to replace the concrete apron with thicker, reinforced concrete. They faced tying over 33,000 rebar connections but found that using Kodi Klip West's patented rebar clips allowed the rebar to be clipped together faster and more cost effectively. The rebar crew was trained on the clips in under 15 minutes. Using the clips saved 26% over the budgeted cost for rebar placement. Based on this success, the clips will be considered for all future concrete projects.
