Rankingsystemerne kan inddeles i fire kategorier:

eller sub-institutionelle.

Eksempler pĂ„ de mest refererende er ”Academic Ranking of World Universities” udgivet af
Shanghai Jiao Tong University*, samt ”World University Rankings” udgivet af Times Higher

Sub-institutionelle rankingsystemer sammenligner specifikke universitetsenheder med lignende
fra andre institutioner.

(The Academic Peer Rev iew is the centerpiece of the THE - QS World Univ ersity Rankings and is
based on an online surv ey distributed to academics worldwide. Results are compiled based on three
y ears worth of responses totaling 6,354 in 2008. Respondents are not permitted to submit their own
institution or to respond more than once (their latest response is counted). Weightings are applied
both geographically and by discipline to ensure as f air a representativ e spread as possible.)

Citations per Faculty / Antal citationer per forsker
(Citations are a widely used, conv entional measure of research strength. A citation is a ref erence to
one academic publication in the text of another. The more citations a publication receiv es the better it
is perceiv ed to be, the more highly cited papers a univ ersity publishes, the stronger it can be
considered to be. As a measure this is somewhat geared towards scientif ic and technical subjects,
which is why it doesn't carry more weight. The source used in this ev aluation is Scopus, the world's
largest abstract and citation database of research literature. The latest f iv e complete y ears of data

are used. The total citation count is f actored against the number of f aculty in order to take into
account the size of the institution.)

(Faculty Student Ratio is used in many ranking sy stems and ev aluations in the world, and whilst it
may not be a perf ect measure of teaching quality , it is the most globally av ailable and accessible
measure of commitment to teaching. An indication that the institution in question has suf f icient staff

Information
This ranking orders the universities according to four main w eb characteristics fromtheir
institutional w eb domain. The volume of contents is measured by the number of pages freely
accessible, their visibility by the number of incoming links. The number of rich files is used as an
indicator because rich files are a format to spread scientific and technicaldata and results. And
total number of document indexed in Google Scholar is an indicator of the scientific publications
on the Web. Each w eb domain is ranked by the linear aggregation of these indicators, building
the w ebometrics ranking (WR)

Data extraction was made in February 2008 fromYahoo! Search. It allow s severalsearch
operators in a single search string and the w eb coverage is rather wide. The follow ing queries

Baggrunden for tildelingen af pageranker uhyre kompleks, men det er blandt andet vigtigt hvor

The volume of contents is measured by the number of pages freely accessible, their visibility by the number of incoming links. The number of rich files is used as an indicator because rich files are a format to spread scientific and technicaldata and results. And total number of document indexed in Google Scholar is an indicator of the scientific publications on the Web. Each w eb domain is ranked by the linear aggregation of these indicators, building the w ebometrics ranking (WR) WR=4(visibility rank)+2(site rank)+1(Rich file rank)+1(Google Scholar rank) Data extraction was made in February 2008 fromYahoo! Search. It allow s severalsearch operators in a single search string and the w eb coverage is rather wide.
