I gave a presentation outlining the main rivals of the social networking giant Facebook. Focused on the strengths and weaknesses of the sites.

1. Facebook’s Rivals

3. • LinkedIn is a business-related social networking site.
Launched in May 2003. One year before Facebook.
• As of 3 November 2011, LinkedIn reports more than 135
million registered users in more than 200 countries.
• LinkedIn has many feature that Facebook does not.

5. • It was created in March 2006, 2 years after Facebook.
• The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity, with over
300 million users as of 2011.
• Twitter claims to have many advantages over Facebook

7. • The service was launched on June 28, 2011, in an invitation-
only "field testing" phase but early invites were soon
suspended due to an "insane demand" for new accounts.
• On January 19, 2012, it was reported that Google+ had
surpassed a user base of 90 million
• Some people say Google+ has it all; that it is the perfect mix
between Facebook and Twitter.
• There are also many benefits of using Google+ than there are
to using Facebook.

9. • MySpace was launched in August 2003.
• In August 2011, MySpace had 33.1 million unique U.S. visitors.
• From 2005 until early 2008, MySpace was the most visited
social networking site in the world, and in June 2006
surpassed Google as the most visited website in the USA.
• MySpace has very few unique aspects to it that would give it
the edge over Facebook.
