Appropriate packaging as important as
the food quality
India is one of the largest producers of
various fruits thanks to the tropical and
varied climate. Once harvested fruits
and vegetables remain fresh only as
long as their normal metabolism
continues. If the availability of oxygen
is restricted, chemical reaction
changes and small quantities of
alcohol are produced, resulting in foul
odour, flavours and breakdown of
plant cells. This process is called
anaerobic decay which spoils fruits or
vegetables within a few hours.
The moisture content in fruits and
vegetables ranges from 75-95%. Their
equilibrium relative humidity is as high
as 98%. Rapid drying causes wilting
and shriveling due to loss of rigidity
and shrinkage of the cells.
Normal ripening of fruits and vegeta-
bles results in colour, texture, odour
and flavour alterations. Beyond ideal
ripeness, the product over-ripes and
its quality deteriorates. Though
extremely difficult, delivering the prod-
uct to the consumer with perfect
ripeness at the time of eating is the
primary goal.
Proper packaging prevents moisture
loss and wilting by prolonging the
storage life of fresh fruits and vegeta-
bles. PROTECnet - an innovative fruit
packaging solution provides cushion-
ing thereby reducing the possibility of
anaerobic decay.
Made from expanded polyethylene
foam (EPE/PE), 'PROTECnet' is avail-
able as tubular netting 'sleeve' of
various diameters and lengths.
PROTECnet Advantages :
• Improves aesthetics during delivery
• 100% recyclable
Currently we supply PROTECnet
solutions in varied sizes for domestic

ment impacts from automobile use

hydrology by reducing impervious
cover, increasing on-site infiltration
and managing storm water run-off
• Encourage and recognize
increasing levels of self supply
through renewable technologies
• Provide a high level of individual
occupant control of ventilation and
lighting systems to support good
health, better productivity and a
comfortable atmosphere
Supreme Industries Ltd. understands
its responsibilities towards environ-
mental issues. Our INSU range of
products are listed in IGBC directory

Envelope. The insulation, duct and
piping systems and INSUflex nitrile
tubing solutions are listed in HVAC
System Designs.
We all know that air is one of the best
known insulator. Air gap provides a
resistive path to direct heat transfer &
acts as a barrier. In case of chemically
crosslinked foam - INSUshield, the air
entrapped in the microcellular cell
structure, provides the resistive path
providing excellent insulation
properties.
In our endeavor to improvise the
efficiency of Insulation, Supreme’s
R&D department has come out with a
unique innovative product solution,
which not only retains all the benefit of
INSUshield, but it enhances the
performance by introducing additional
air gaps within the product which
increases the heat resistance.
Apart from improvement in
performance, INSUshield-AF provides
following benefits:
• Offers more flexibility & ease of
application
• Lightweight
INSUshield-AF is available in standard
13mm & 19mm thickness & can be
supplied with factory laminated
Aluminium foil.

DURAfloorguard is a reusable floor covering made from non
deteriorating foams which can be used many times
Today, construction industry is faced
with a tough challenge - to safeguard
natural resources for tomorrow.
Research by international
organizations like World Wildlife
Fund (WWF) suggests that human
beings are consuming natural
resources at the rate of 20-25%
greater than the planet can replenish
them. It has also strongly
recommended to optimize the use of
natural resources. Though cutting
down its use does not mean lowering
standards of life, doing so while
maintaining the existing standards is
indeed a challenge. Keeping this in
mind, Supreme endorses
sustainable development and has
developed all its DURA products as a
better replacement of conventional
products made from natural
resources.
Understanding that buildings must
be constructed in a way to sustain
the environmental terms, Supreme
adds value to the quality of life of
individuals and community.
Product coverage - DURAmembrane-SA
DURAmembrane is an indegenously
developed composite water proofing
membrane by Supreme and
launched to cater to the demands &
challenges of the Indian conditions.
In our endeavor to develop cost
effective & user friendly innovations,
we have introduced
DURAmembrane-SA.
This DURAmembrane-SA comes
with a factory applied special
adhesive coating with release liner.
DURAmembrane-SA offers better
adhesion properties as well as
provides considerable reduction in
application time. This eliminates the
uncertainty in adhesive application
on site & saves considerable time
which needs to be provided before
final membrane application.
The process now is very user friendly
& will ensure perfect application with
relatively semi-skilled or unskilled
labour, thus saving costs &
application time considerably.
