Judith Barajas was a Sales Team Leader for the AroundCampus Group during this past summer of 2015.
Judith’s optimistic outlook on outside sales allowed for her to achieve personal success throughout the summer.
Her ability to build rapport, run productive sales team meetings, and seek out new clientele were a few of her
strongest assets.
The AroundCampus Group, the nation’s premier publisher of campus directories and student planners, provides
a phenomenal internship program to students from universities across the country. Judith sold and marketed
advertising, and managed the local sales team and goals full-time for Abilene Christian University. Our
internship program begins with a one week nationally recognized training program in Chapel Hill, North
Carolina on the University of North Carolina’s campus. Training is incredibly hands-on and we cover such
topics as advertising/marketing strategy, ethical sales practices, time management, and professional
communication skills.
Transferring these skills to the field, I had the opportunity to ride along and work directly with Judith on
numerous sales calls, and she demonstrated excitement to meet new clients, while maintaining a professional
demeanor. She also had the opportunity to motivate and communicate strategies with other Texas university
Sales Team Leaders, and was extremely helpful in their development and communicating their progress to
management.
Judith successfully worked on a team, trained other interns, handled objections, efficiently managed a territory,
and created advertisements for her customers. She led herself, as well as her team, to be ranked not only in the
region, but in the top of our program of over 200 universities.
Judtih has what it takes to build a strong career for herself, and I highly recommend her for any position she
chooses to pursue for her career. Judith’s enthusiasm and willingness to learn will bring much success for her in
the future.
