The Lodge @ Fortius is one of the signature features of Fortius Sport & Health. It is the perfect
accommodation for your sport and health event. The 111 bed venue offers short-term and mid-term
accommodations for clients, teams and other groups, including visiting athletes, coaches and
administrators participating in local tournaments, camps, workshops or conferences.

guestinformation
Hours of Operation
Fortius Sport & Health is open to the public Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm;
Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Please note that the front doors are locked when the facility is closed. Lodge guests entering and
exiting the Lodge outside of operating hours will be required to notify Security to ensure access. If
the front doors are locked upon return to the facility, please use the buzzer located at the front
entrance to alert staff and receive access, or please call the Security line; 604-292-2526.
The Unique Air Flow Design
The guest and meeting rooms in The Lodge @ Fortius are not air conditioned. The windows have
been designed to encourage air flow through the room when both the lower and the upper windows
are open. It helps the air flow if the window covers are not pulled down.
Room Access Cards
All cards are issued to identified guests in designated rooms. Room access cards must be returned at
check out. A $10 replacement card fee will be added for any un-returned cards.
WIFI
Complimentary wireless internet is provided at the Lodge @ Fortius. Please contact the Front Desk
for the wireless password. TELUS Optik TV is accessible on all Lodge televisions.
Quiet Hours
Please respect other guests, businesses and clients during your stay at The Lodge @ Fortius. Quiet
Hours in the facility are 11:00 pm – 6:00 am. We appreciate your cooperation.
Visitors
After hours, guests expecting visitors must inform the Front Desk personnel. Individuals visiting
guests are required to check in and out at the Front Desk. Visitors may be restricted during the hours
of 10:00 pm – 6:00 am.

Housekeeping
Guest rooms will be serviced on a daily basis and linens will be refreshed every third day unless otherwise
requested. Please place towels in the bathtub to request replacement.
Food
Please do not keep food in Lodge guest rooms. Fridges are available in the lounge area for snacks and drinks.
There are vending machines in each floor.
The Lodge @ Fortius does not provide microwaves or coffee makers. A small kitchen on Level 2 is available
to Lodge guests. This kitchen has a microwave, sink and fridge for guests to use. There are very limited food
options in the Central Valley so we encourage you to enjoy the food at the Game Changers Bistro.
The Training Centre @ Fortius
Fortius is committed to helping you stay active during your stay at The Lodge @ Fortius. Guests staying in the
Lodge have complimentary access to the Training Centre for the duration of your stay. Guests must check in
at the Training Centre front desk. Complimentary access is for individual use only; all team training sessions
must be pre-booked with the Training Centre. No external coaching permitted.
Business Centre Services
Business Centre services such as photocopying, faxing and scanning may be accessed at the Fortius
Corporate Reception located on Level 2, Monday to Friday. Fees will apply.
Laundry Services
Laundry services are available during your stay at The Lodge @ Fortius. Please see the Fortius front desk for
further information on pick up and drop off. Laundry rates are $10 per bag and are provided at the Front
Desk.

The Training Centre
Spanning 15,000 sq. ft. over two floors, the large open areas are ideal for functional movement training. The
Training Centre @ Fortius offers a wide range of equipment and tools to train athletes and active individuals of
all ages and abilities. The Training Centre also includes a steam room and sauna with towel service.
Fortius is committed to helping you stay active during your stay at The Lodge @ Fortius. Guests staying in the
Lodge have complimentary access to the Training Centre for the duration of your stay. Guests must check in at
the Training Centre front desk. Complimentary access is for individual use only; all team training sessions must
be pre-booked with the Training Centre. No external coaching permitted.

The Cauldron
Situated adjacent to The Training Centre @ Fortius on the second floor of our facility, The Cauldron @ Fortius is
a PowerWatts cycling studio. Designed to offer the best possible indoor training environment, whether you're a
performance cyclist or simply wanting to optimize your fitness regimen.
It is equipped with a state-of-the-art platform of eight training bikes and the authentic PowerWatts™ training
program. It also features large screen HDTVs, inspirational cycling artwork and two additional training platforms
for performance bikes.
For information regarding private or group classes please visit the Training Centre front desk located on the 2nd
floor.
The Gymnasium & The Pitch
The Gymnasium is a double gymnasium that features two full size basketball courts.
The Pitch is a FIFA standard soccer turf located immediately adjacent to the north side of the facility, with
beautiful views of the North Shore Mountains.

Meeting Rooms
The Fortius Athlete Development Centre is a hub for sports teams, sports clubs, leagues and associations. A total
of seven separate meeting rooms are available for public use. For booking please visit the Front Desk or call

Lodge Phones
• Outgoing calls can be made by dialing 9 + area code + number.
• Incoming calls to your room can be made by dialing 604-292-2550 followed by a four digit extension
which is the number 3, then the floor number, then the last two numbers of the room you are in
e.g. to reach room 5014 dial 604-292-2550 extension 3514.
• You can dial room to room by dialing the extension e.g. if you want room 5014, dial extension 3514.
• Long distance is not available on these phones.
• Messages cannot be recorded on these phones.
• If you have an emergency or need assistance from the front desk, call 604-292-2500 during open
hours or 604-292-2526 after hours.
TV Use
• Fortius housekeeping staff check televisions whenever they are in rooms for cleaning, however if
your TV is not working for some reason, call the front desk staff and they will send a maintenance
staff to your room.
Meeting Rooms Monitors
• Meeting rooms on every floor have been set up with a monitor to facilitate displays during
meetings. Adaptor cords are available at the front desk for your computer.
• Detailed instructions on how to set up the monitor to provide your computer display are located
beside the monitors.

The Game Changers Bistro offers healthy meals, ideal after a workout at The Training Centre, your weekly team
event in The Gymnasium or an appointment with one of our practitioners in the Fortius Institute.
With our large screen HDTV and comfortable seating, it's great for meeting friends to watch a game. And with
floor-to-ceiling windows to the north, and wide views of the North Shore mountains, it's a picturesque place to
entertain clients or meet with colleagues working in and around Burnaby's Central Valley Sports Complex.
The Game Changers Bistro @ Fortius features the Athens Patio, which overlooks The Pitch @ Fortius and those
beautiful North Shore mountains.
Starbucks
Starbucks is the premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffee in the world. And with every cup, we strive we
bring both our heritage and an exceptional experience to life. Starbucks offers some of the world’s finest fresh-
roasted whole bean coffees.
We’re not just passionate purveyors of coffee, but everything else that goes with a full and rewarding
coffeehouse experience. We also offer a selection of premium Tazo® teas, fine pastries and other delectable
treats to please the taste buds. And the music you hear in store is chosen for its artistry and appeal.

After hour assistance
Fortius Sport & Health is closed to the general public in the early evening (times will change seasonally).
However, there is always staff on duty at the front desk to provide assistance to lodge guests.
If you are leaving the building for the evening, please inform the night manager and provide an approximate
time that you will anticipate returning. Be prepared to provide identification on your return. When you arrive
back, press the intercom button to speak to the night manager who will then allow you back in the building.
If you have a problem with your lodge room that requires attention, please call the night manager, who will
dispatch cleaning or maintenance staff to help.
If you require medical assistance, please call the night manager, who can provide first aid supplies or call 911.
If you are concerned about any security issue, please call the night manager, who will investigate and call the
police if necessary.
If you have misplaced your room access card, please call the night manager, who will verify your reservation
and provide you with an alternative key.
If your TV or phone is not working, please call the night manager, who will come to your room or send
someone to fix it.
