Will and going to

1. WILL x GOING TO
“Will” é usado para falar de algo no futuro
imediato e também normalmente vem
acompanhado de expressões que indicam
incerteza. Abaixo você vê algumas dessas expressões:
 I think… (Eu acho que…)
 Probably, … (Provavelmente, …)
 I guess… (Eu acho…)
 I am not sure, but I think… (Não tenho certeza, mas acho que…)
 I do not know, but I think… (Não sei não, mas acho que…)
 Maybe… Perhaps... (Talvez…)
Em Inglês todas elas indicam incerteza. Existem outras, mas, com estas aí
você conseguirá dizer muitas coisas. Abaixo seguem outros exemplos:
 Eu provavelmente vou para Santos em dezembro - I probably will
go to Santos in December.
 Não sei não, mas acho que não vou à festa no sábado que vem – I
do not know but I think I will not go to the party on Saturday next.
 Talvez nós não estaremos aqui amanhã – Maybe we will not be here
tomorrow.
Como as expressões de incerteza estão presentes nas sentenças a
palavra que geralmente é usada para expressar o futuro nesses casos é
“will”.
Quando estiver certo do que vai fazer – caso não tenha dúvidas sobre o
que fará no futuro, já está decidido e praticamente acertado – então
prefira usar o “going to”.
 Eu irei para Salvador este ano - I am going to Salvador this year.
 Não irei para festa no próxima Sábado - I am not going to the party
next Saturday.
 Não estaremos aqui no mês que vem - We are not going to be here
next month.

2. WILL x GOING TO
Nestes exemplos as expressões de incerteza
não apareceram. É simples: você não têm dúvidas do que irá fazer; você
sabe que fará aquilo e pronto! Você está se organizando para fazer!
Você já está planejou e resolveu tudo para que aquilo aconteça.
Portanto, lembre-se: quando não tiver certeza do que fará no futuro use
o “will” normalmente acompanhado de expressões de incerteza. Por
outro lado, se você tiver certeza, então faça uso do “going to”.
