1. Enlighten us with the foundation story of the
company and also the brief details of the
company’s initial days.
Creative Factor was founded in the year 2009,
with very modest beginnings as a proprietorship
company by Tridiv Das in the month of
September. The company was started in a small
corner in his house, in Bengaluru with just a
Laptop.
Two to three months into the business, and after
consulting a few large and prestigious Indian and
MNC brands, on their Marketing & Brand
Management strategy, he was joined by his
longtime colleague and friend Satish Kumar to
add more intellectual and business operational
strength to the company. While Tridiv looked into
the idea and strategy part of the assignments,
Satish used to manage the domain of giving life to
the ideas.
We are constantly trying to leverage creativity as a
practice which is delivering the brilliant ideas.
Also, we added more muscle by building our
teams and opened an office in Delhi &
subsequently in Chennai. The word about our
good work and our motto of working as a truly
extended team for our clients fetched us more
business. Clients started trusting us as their true
advisors, an extended team who solves their
business problems.
Since the very beginning, we have been strictly
following and reinforcing processes. Hence, we
are one the first agencies to implement ISO
Certification.
2. Brief us about the Founder/CEO of the
company and the major contribution of
him/her towards the company.
As a founder one has to wear multiple hats, and
Tridiv has managed it very well, doing equal
justice with all the departments that are crucial to
the success of the organization.
He along with his partner, Satish, defined and
implemented all the systems and processes
required for the smooth functioning of the
organisation. And this experience has given us the
edge to consult and advise mid-sized
organisations, to help them establish their business
processes successfully.
Tridiv is the face of the organisation, and has been
constantly striving to raise the bar, be in our
consulting or delivery models. He has been
instrumental in foreseeing the future of our
industry, and has prepared the organization to
embrace change, learn, equip, train and mentor the
team for the future – be in the areas of technology
implementations, new services, and consulting
assignments.
3. Please share with us the initial struggle that
strengthen the current success of the brand.
The initial days were a struggle as is the case with
all Entrepreneurs, attracting right talent, managing
finances, surplus funds for operating expenses
were some of the key challenge.
We also faced the challenge of competing against
small players who sold the services at prices
below the market value. But we stood our ground,
and over a period of time, potential clients, saw
the value that we brought to the table, in working
with them as their truly extended team! All these
struggles taught us that we need to empower
ourselves, with the best of knowledge, resources
and network of partners.
We constantly push our teams to push themselves
to be the best in the industry, and we encourage
them to invest time in themselves, and learn new
things and stay abreast of what is happening in the
industry (Business Communication, Consulting &
that of our clients’ industries). We conduct many
in-house training programs (some of which are
mandatory, and others are optional, as per the
choice of the team members) for the team
members, the next and upcoming generation to
empower them, to lead the future.
We have also managed to bring on board some of
the exceptionally best talents in the industry to be
a part of our management team, viz Partho Sinha –

We have restarted our operations in the West, have
signed up a few prestigious consulting
assignments, strengthened our network, and are
investing time and energy in technological
enablement. We are also in discussion for
collaborations with international partners.
6. Please share some success stories, awards and
accolades that the company has received.
Our biggest awards have been our select list of
long-standing clients, and there have been many
challenges that we have solved along with our
clients, the details of which are confidential. We
have won a few industry awards for business
communication assignments, some of them worth

The industry in going through a flux, and
Technology combined with Creativity is changing
the entire communications industry landscape, and
one has to constantly keep evolving to deliver the
best experiences on behalf of the Brands we
represent.
9. Advice for the budding entrepreneurs who are
trying to embark in the same field.
Businesses are not built overnight, they need time,
so one must have the patience to go through the
turmoil and the ups and downs. Secondly,
businesses are best built for a purpose, don't do
business only for money- it’s not inspiring.
10. Brief us about the future of the company or the
goal it has set to mark its exceptionality in
future.
The focus for the near future is to strengthen our
consulting offerings, establish ventures that focus
on an overall betterment of the society at large (we
have two such ventures – Green Factor (Indoor
Greenhouse solution to solve food crisis in the
overpopulated world) and Samsarana (An
Advance Age Solution)), work on building and
training our second level of management, establish
our international footprint in emerging markets,
invest in technology enablers, building a culture
that will address the needs of today’s millennials
and empowering them to realize their true
potential.

1. Enlighten us with the foundation story of the
company and also the brief details of the company’s
initial days.
Deflytics Software was founded in Nov 2012 and
started commercial operations in mid-2013. We named
the company “Deflytics” as the sum of 2 parts –
[DEF]Y and ANA[LYTICS] – with the core belief that
companies need to Defy their existing business
processes and use Analytics to bring change within
their organizations for better decision making. With this
aim, we set about seeking partnership with global
product companies in the analytics space. We knew
even then that Software as a Service [cloud-based
technologies] would be the next big wave and so we
aligned our partnerships with leaders in the analytics
space with a cloud-focused product offering.
In the initial few quarters of 2013, we faced resistance
from market to adopt cloud-based solutions due to
challenges inter alia on data security, scalability,
network, and bandwidth. Further, we faced stiff
competition from the strong presence of on-premise
vendors like SAP, Oracle, and IBM. Over the course of
next 2-3 years though, we had a good run with our
Mobile BI and EPM offerings landing projects with
some of the biggest and most prestigious enterprises in
India. We eventually had to pivot our business a couple
of times before we decided to focus exclusively on
Enterprise Performance Management marketplace.
2. Brief us about the Founder/CEO of the company
and the major contribution of him/her towards the
company.
Sanjeev Agrawal is the Founder & Director of
Deflytics Software. He has 22+ years of experience in
Sales, Presales & Consulting. He started Deflytics in
2012 and has been associated with the company since
then. He is responsible for overall strategy, operations,
and execution of the company. Under his leadership
and guidance, Deflytics has worked with over 35+
clients across India and overseas across a range of
EPM/BI projects. Deflytics has built expertise in
IT/ITes, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Media &
Entertainment, Retail and Professional Services
industries. He has built a team grounds up to cater to
the challenging needs of planning marketplace, and
believes in open, inclusive work culture, likes to
empower the team to deliver professional work with
honesty, transparency, and integrity. He is pretty hands-
on and is actively involved in implementation projects
lending his expertise to clients.
3. Please share with us the initial struggle that
strengthens the current success of the brand.
Deflytics was incorporated in late 2012 with 3 key areas
of focus – Analytics [including Data warehouse and
BI], Mobile BI and EPM. It won its first EPM client
very early in its journey. Over the years, Deflytics has
worked with clients who are leaders in their respective
industries helping them put together processes and
framework for Analytics and Planning. Over the last
few years, it has pivoted its business to focus
exclusively on the Enterprise Performance
Management [EPM] market and has gained significant
traction. Deflytics is a team of the young, energetic and
vibrant workforce with industry knowledge and
experience along with professional educational
background like CA, MBA[Finance] or
MBA[Operations]. They connect with business team
speaking the language clients understand and co-relate
with. Deflytics ensures adherence to the highest
standards of delivery at an attractive total cost of

4. Tell us about the services you provide through your
venture.
We are an Enterprise Performance Management [EPM]
service provider. We work with clients to help them
PLAN and MANAGE their business BETTER. The
keywords here are PLAN, MANAGE and BETTER.
Our services are focused on bringing people, processes
and technologies together in a way that enables
companies to create a forward-looking plan [be it in
Finance, Supply Chain, HR or Sales] using levers or
drivers that impact their business. People collaborate in
making this plan keeping the strategic goals and
objectives of the company in mind. Actual performance
against the plan provides insights and information that
can help businesses drive their tactical decisions to
ensure velocity in their execution towards their overall
plan. The only thing constant in Planning is Change.
Businesses need to evolve based on market dynamics,
economic and political changes, and competitive
situations. This drives continuous change to the plan
through the re-forecasting process. This enables

5. What have been big developments for the company
in India over the last six months?
We have completed some really interesting planning
projects including demand planning & forecasting in
Media & Entertainment sector, complex Bill of
Material costing, Financial Planning in Pharmaceutical
sector, Financial planning for Software as a Service
company and also worked with Financial Services
Company outside India helping them with their
financial planning needs. Our delivery structures,
methodologies, and governance have improved
dramatically over the last few quarters. We have been
ramping up our team strength to ensure scalability for
our future engagements. Our customers expect the best
from us and we are constantly aiming to meet and beat
these expectations.
6. Please share some success stories, awards, and
accolades that the company has received.
Our aim is to ensure that all our clients are successful.
And our success is tied to how we can help them get
BETTER. Many of our clients have realized
quantifiable gains over their erstwhile planning
processes resulting in significant productivity,
qualitative and quantitative benefits. Some client teams
also had softer benefits for example – having the team
leave from work on time and have more time with
family and friends ensuring a positive impact on their
work-life balance.
Since we get involved in our clients’ future outlook and
plans, most clients insist on NDAs that prohibit us from
naming them and their success.
7. How will you describe your company in one word?

8. What is the current industry scenario from your
perspective?
Today’s dynamic macro-economic and market situation
is forcing companies to take decisions that are fact-
based, realistic, timely and most important decisions
that have an impact across the enterprise. Multi-
dimensional analysis, collaborative planning, scenario
analysis, and hypothesis validation are key business
demands. And this cuts across the enterprise – be it
Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, HR, Marketing and IT.
Companies are expecting technology to keep a rapid
pace with the changing business conditions. Able to
plan based on multi scenarios – worst case, best case,
an ideal case and keeping a various variable that can
interplay in the planning process makes these
companies ready to face most eventualities. And when
a particular business situation arises, they are not
caught off-guard but prepared to handle the
circumstance. This enables them to take decisions
faster, be nimble and continue to lead in their
marketplace. We also see rapid cloud-based solution
adoption across industries.
I personally think that “companies need to be of
specific size and scale” before they can look at
technology intervention is a myth. Enterprises of all
sizes (ranging from a few employees and large
enterprises with multi-country operations with large
workforce) need the capability to PLAN their future
BETTER.
9. Advice for the budding entrepreneurs who are
trying to embark in the same field.
Competition in the marketplace is intense. Focus on
your strengths and differentiate your product and
service offerings. Ensure quality work for your
customers.
10. Brief us about the future of the company or the goal
it has set to mark its exceptionality in the future.

company and also the brief details of the company’s
initial days.
The CEO, Mr.Sanjeev Sareen, was working as Executive
Sous Chef in a five star hotel in Delhi. In fact at the age of
27, he was the first ever youngest “Sous Chef of India.” he
decided to do something more challenging. In 1991, he
began to feel the need to guide new entrants as well as the
established brands in the Hospitality Sector in carrying out
various stages in a Project effectively and efficiently so as to
get desired results. As a result of his dynamic vision,
Trident F&B Consultants came into existence and the
methods adopted by Trident F&B Consultants immediately

prestigious hotels in Libra & Egypt. After gaining overseas
experience, he returned to Delhi to join Taj Palace Hotel in
1983. He had also worked at senior positions in Le
Meridien hotel & The Lalit (Holiday Inn erstwhile), New
Delhi. He is considered an expert in F&B Production &
F&B Controls by many in the industry. Mr Sanjeev Sareen
has got more than 40 years of rich experience in Hospitality
Industry.
Mr. Abhishek Saareen, Executive Director of Trident
F&B Consultants Pvt. Ltd, completed four years
Bachelors in Hotel Management and Catering Technology
from New Delhi, has exposure in The Park Hotel (New
Delhi), The Oberoi Hotel & Trident Hotel (Mumbai) and
overseas stint in Dubai (UAE). He takes care of the
planning, execution and post-opening streamlining.
03. Please share with us the initial struggle that
strengthen the current success of the brand.
During early years of establishment, it was very difficult to
get the projects as the awareness was very less. Still with
patience, we managed to run the show with challenge-
facing abilities. In order to overcome the challenges, we
have worked really hard and stayed motivated throughout
our journey to become one of the key players in the world
of professional hospitality consulting. We could do that

Please find the details of the aspects of the consultancy
provided by our company as follows:
1. Planning of the Food Outlets: Planning of the food
outlets is bifurcated into two categories:-
a) Theme
b) Menu
Theme of the restaurant shall precisely depend on the menu
and the cuisine. We help in choosing the regional Menu and
Theme and their proper execution and implementation with
the help of the interior team which is on our panel. We are
experts in planning of High class Food Courts, Sweet shops
and Theme based restaurants with diversified menu i.e.
Mediterranean, Far-East, European, Ethnic Punjabi, Exotic
Sea-Food, Speciality South Indian, etc.
2. Managerial Consultancy: Managerial Consultancy is
very important for the beginners. Since they are not well-
verged with the Restaurant & Hotel Operations, we offer
our help for the smooth functioning for quite a few days
after opening. Our team can handle any kind of situation
that comes across during the ongoing process.
3. Systems & Procedures and their implementation:
Systems and procedures are generally made but due to
certain hiccups during Operations they are not implemented
properly. Therefore we try to put them into the mainstream.
4. Kitchen Planning & equipment selection: Kitchen
Designing is one important aspect of the Facility Planning.
Kitchen is the nerve of any project so utmost care is taken
as far as work-ability and Space Utilization is concerned.
Once the layout is finalized, then we submit the detailed
Service Drawings i.e. Electrical, Plumbing, LPG/ CNG/
PNG, Exhaust-Fresh air, etc.
5. Feasibility study: At the pre-conceptual stage, we offer
our services for the study of viability and feasibility. That
includes all the positive and negative points as far as the
location of the project is concerned and the projected
clientele and the estimated footfall.
6. Project reports: Project reports are prepared in
co-ordination with the Chartered Accountant to give a fair
view of the monitory aspects.
Other areas of Involvement:
• Sick unit handling
We undertake the peculiar task of Profit making from those
units which are “Sick”. In other words, we provide
managerial consultancy to those establishments which, due
to some or the other reason; do not reach the “break-even
point”.
• Planning of bulk catering establishments
Be it an Educational or Institutional Catering which
provides meals to more than 2,50,000 people per day, are
also designed by us keeping in mind the space utilization,
facilities for the bulk production & faster dispensing of
food.
• To provide the measures for effective cost control
If your food court/restaurant goes “haywire”, then you tend
to make losses. So we suggest some very versatile measures
to curtail the soaring costs.

Output is directly related to Profits. Per shift & per staff

Also sharing an interesting episode: In early 90’s, we did
a restaurant project in a small town of Haryana i.e.
Yamuna nagar. The client’s father said “My son has
already lost crores of rupees in several other ventures
(nowhere related to the Restaurant business). This is the
last time I am funding a project for him. So I want the
project should be successful otherwise my son will have
no future”. Having expertise in the field, we planned the
project in such a way & gave our expert advices from
time to time. Not only was the project a huge hit but our
client became a known figure in the Indian Hospitality
because of this particular project. Today he is the
“General Secretary of the Restaurant Association (Local
body)”.

perspective?
We, at Trident F&B Consultants Pvt. Ltd., strongly believe
that India with its economic growth is seen as most
potential market for doing food business. F&B industry is
growing at a very fast pace.
09. Advice for the budding entrepreneurs who are trying
to embark in the same field.
For the young entrepreneurs, I want to say that “Sky is the
limit”. They should move forward with crystal clear vision
& strong passion to achieve their goals.
10. Brief us about the future of the company or the goal
it has set to mark its exceptionality in future.
These days even small entrepreneurs also want to hire a
consultant for a small project. This could have been
possible because of the growing awareness about
consultants, their popularity and their importance in a
project. This trend is only going to go upwards so the future
is bright and the scope is growing as new people and groups
are entering the hospitality industry and thanks to the Govt.
policies which encourage the fresh entrepreneur. We have
done more than 600 hospitality projects. We aim to
accomplish 1000 projects by 2025. We envisage ourselves
as touching wider horizons, grow manifolds and contribute
to the society in various ways in the coming years.
