This document discusses changing trends in food safety and describes a dairy value chain intervention in Assam, India. It finds that (1) foodborne disease is a growing global concern, (2) an intervention including training, awareness campaigns, and incentives improved food safety knowledge and practices amongst dairy producers and traders in Assam, and (3) the intervention benefited the economy, consumers, and public health in Assam.
