1. 10.10.10

Do you serve God because of Respect or Reverence?
Malachi 1:11
“God’s name is greatly to be praised, but do you know who He is?”
“Many at secular award shows shout out God’s name saying they want to thank Him, but they don’t
live like Him.”
“Some people even have the nerve to curse His name which is a violation of Exodus 20:7.”
“When God’s name is mentioned by people that curse Him, the question true followers of God
should ask is which god are you referring to?”
Hebrews 12:28-29
“It wasn’t until Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit that the fire of God was quenched in their life.
It was fruit, not an apple because sin has a wide picture, there is no little sin or big sin, if you
violate one commandment, you violate them all.”
James 2:10-11
Reverence- an attitude of respect, to honor, esteem and adore.
“If you’re serving God with reverence you should be able to spot people who are using His name
incorrectly and you should know if you are doing the same.”
2. Leviticus 22:32
Respect – a privileged position, or someone or something considered to have certain rights or
privileges.
“Do you respect people that you see because of what you heard or because of who they are?”
“We reverence God and not man!”
“Whatever a person does can increase or decease the level of respect they receive.”
“A person who has respect only for God, can have something said to them by a vessel and can
get offended and run. If it’s the truth just accept it. Quick note, …at the name of Jesus demons
flee, so if you get offended and you are running and Jesus’ name is mentioned….?”
Hebrews 12:6
“Sometimes we treat God like a rich distant uncle; we only come to Him when we need
something instead of treating Him as our Heavenly Father.”
“It is impossible to have respect for God and not serve Him or reverence Him.”
Malachi 1:6-8
“The way we live our life is a sacrifice to God.”
“If you say you serve God and you are drinking and cussing up a storm, how dare you mention
God’s name and act like that?”
3. Isaiah 29:13
“You must develop your own fear of God, not fear based off of Grandma and mom.”
Mark 7:6-7
Isaiah 11:1-5
Luke 4:17-21
“We cannot bring God down to our level because He has already come down to that when He
died for us.”
“Anything that comes in God’s house must either bow or leave!”
Philippians 2:15
Hebrews 13:8
“If you reverence God today, reverence Him forever!”
