10. Top retailers continue to strengthen or adopt new
chemical policies
• Since 2016, eleven retailers improved their
grade from a D+ to a C+.
• Twenty-one out of twenty-nine retailers
(72%) evaluated in 2017 and 2018 improved
over the last year.

• Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s – takes action on PFAS in FCM’s
• Amazon – bans toxic paint strippers by March 2019

manufacturing of apparel for elimination by 2025
