4. Hebrews 13:6-8 NLT
So we can say with confidence, “The LORD is my helper, so I will have no
fear. What can mere people do to me?” Remember your leaders who
taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from
their lives, and follow the example of their faith. Jesus Christ is the
same yesterday, today, and forever.
6. THE FUTURE IS NOT IN THE PAST
Hebrews 12:1-2 NASB
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us
also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us,
and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes
on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God.
7. THE FUTURE IS NOT NECESSARILY AN
EXTENSION OF THE PRESENT
James 4:13-15 NASB
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a
city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet
you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor
that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to
say, “If the Lord wills, we will live
and also do this or that.”
8. OUR FUTURE IS IN CHRIST
Revelation 21:3-4 NLT
I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God's home is now
among His people! He will live with them, and they will be His people. God
Himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there
will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone
forever.”
9. Revelation 21:5-7 NLT
And the One sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything
new!” And then He said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is
trustworthy and true.” And He also said, “It is finished! I am the Alpha
and the Omega – the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will
give freely from the springs of the water of life. All who are victorious will
inherit all these blessings, and I will be their God, and they will be My
children.
10. I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I
have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that
perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers
and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing:
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead …
Philippians 3:12-13 NLT

Teazer. How do we lay hold of the future that God has promised us?
Quotes: “Your Future is as bright as your faith”
“Our Future is in Christ.”
“Obtaining the promised future is in establishing His Kingdom”
Priceless is Precious without measure.
Illustration: Time travel, atomic clocks and leap seconds.
God is the constant by witch we set our lives.
Everyone needs to know what the time is at some point in the day, whether to catch our bus in the morning or to celebrate the New Year at the right moment. For this sort of timekeeping, our personal watches and household clocks are accurate enough. A typical quartz clock, for example, manages to keep time to within a second over ten days.
When it comes to sending data down a phone line or navigating by satellites, however, we need as much precision as possible.
Applications from global communications to satellite navigation, surveying and transport systems are underpinned by precise timing, and the same stable and accurate time scale must be in use everywhere for such systems to operate correctly.

Your future is not in reclaiming the best of your past, reliving the worst of the past or even in avoiding past mistakes.
Like Israel longing back for the Egypt our lives can be filled with thought about the past. We maybe regretting past choices or missing good times but living by looking in the rear view mirror is no way to go forward. The past belongs under the redemptive blood of Christ. We forgive the past or we appreciate it but we fix our eyes on the future calling.
We learn from the past but we fix our eyes in faith on the future God has for us. Even as a community we must not look to the past but we know our future is in Christ.
We are always tempted to stand in our current reality and think we know what the future will be.
Testimony about what this week 30 years ago was like.
Don’t make permanent decisions based on a temporary present. You may face present difficulties and feel if I gave you a million it will change it all. But you have something far better than a million, you have the one who created it all, sustains it now and who holds the future. Keep your faith.
Our Future is in Christ but not only when it is all done and dusted. It is in this present life that we are victorious so that we can inherit the future. Our promised future is His Kingdom.
God has promised a future for this community and we are very excited about that future. Our role is to walk by faith so that God can give us that future, daily we walk in obedience. We plant seeds today, seeds that cost us today but it is those seeds that will produce a 30, 60, 100 fold harvest. I honour this community for being bold in following Christ. You heard God ask you to sow generously in sharing. We are already seeing how your seed is producing a harvest. Not only is it producing fruit for the Kingdom at Hatfield but here we see the increase of the Kingdom through Faith Promise. We see an increase in leadership as so many have stepped up into new levels of leadership. We see the increase in momentum as this community has not skipped a beat but is pressing on taking new territory. We see the increase in lives being changed and our community growing.
Well done but let us continue to push forward. Let our hearts beat in sync with the atomic clock of God’s heart.
