RCE´s Young Network 6 One of the main challenges of the RCE´s Bogotá is building a process that allows young Colombians to contribute with their initiatives at the local and regional environmental management, actively and effectively participate in decision-making and influence the State actions towards building an ethical and responsible environmental culture.
  7. 7. 0 The objective of the Environmental Forums and Educational Workshops, which are carried out with the proposed theme for each year by the Decade, is creating a Citizen Environmental Culture for the people of Bogota. 0 These events are free of charge, they are open to public participation besides students, teachers and researchers interested in environmental issues and interested in orienting our city towards sustainability. Environmental Forums and Educational Conferences 0 The work of planning and carrying out the different Educational Forums and Conferences is collaborative, cooperative and through an interdisciplinary team of professionals who belong to the 12 Universities which are members of the RCE Bogota. Each institution that is participating is responsible for the organization, both academically and logistically of each of the events. 8
  9. 9. 0 The lecturers involved in the Forums and the Educational Workshops are experts in the subjects proposed by the Decade. The lecturers are invited to submit their contributions and create an open dialogue with the participants. There is always a space for discussion and public input in each forum 0 The conferences are spaces to socialize Pedagogical research experiences and projects developed by communities and students on issues related to Education for Sustainability.   10. 10. Environmental Forums and Educational Conferences 0 The closure of the session is done at the end of each event with some conclusions that are created together with the participants. The purpose is promoting actions that contribute to friendly environmental changes in both the individual and the collective life of the participants. 10
  11. 11. Environmental Forums and Educational Conferences 0 To the present there have been 44 Educational Forums and Conferences, with an average attendance of 200 participants per event. 11
  12. 12. 0 Having completed the Environmental Forums and Educational Conference each year, the best papers presented are assessed and collected to organize the publication of the respective memoirs, which were published in a physical version and in 2 digital books until 2012. 12

RCE´s Young Network RCE Youth ownership of water resources through education for sustainable development programs 0 RCE Bogotá has been supporting and advising actions of direct involvement in the young members of its Youth Network. They have contributed and made decisions in different spaces and venues in the country. 14
  15. 15. 0 RCE contributes to cultural transformation of the strategic ecosystems of the city stakeholders, leaded by children and youth as pioneers of change. 15 0 RCE Bogotá has been supporting and advising actions of direct involvement in the young members of its Youth Network. 0 The Network is a place where youth come together to carry out activities, projects and actions according to the needs of their territory.

  17. 17. Training workshops for children and youth in schools and public education institutions 17
  18. 18. Education in practice, through outings, walks and outdoor activities in some of the city’s basins. 18
  19. 19. Visits to communities through existing citizen participation spaces in which recreational activities, lectures, workshops and awareness activities are developed. 19
  20. 20. Forums, discussions and opportunities for reflection on the responsibility in front of the management and use of natural resources. 20
