3. WhyWHATSAPP?
Founded by Brian Acton and Jan Koum in 2009, both former
employees ofYahoo! Whatsapp has gone on to become an
influential and most used means of communication across
the globe.
With over a billion users, the benefits of Whatsapp and the
need to adopt Whatsapp marketing for business can not be
underestimated.
The strategies discussed here are some of the many we have
adopted to grow UGABUS Inc, to profitability.
4. ButWhat isWhatsApp Marketing?
Just like any other marketing, I define WhatSapp Marketing
as the process of building and maintaining customer
relationships through mass messages, campaign activities in
order to facilitate exchange of ideas, products and services
that satisfy the goals of both parties. This is growing very
fast!
5. WhatsApp Marketing Objectives:
There could be diverse objectives on the use of Whatsapp,
but the major ones that we considered are:
7. Advantages ofWhatsapp.
BulkWhatsapp is a unique & effective way to promote your business
through text, videos, images and contact. This technique can be used
to generate good amount of sales around the world or specific country,
city or even a particular location. It ensures 100% delivery ratio.
ADVANTAGES
Return on investment
Increased Traffic
Cost effectiveness
Brand awareness.
Increased sales and hence profits.
8. WHAT NEXT?
Now that we knowWhatsapp is the real deal to drive our
sales up, increase profitability and drive brand awareness, we
need to tackle the nitty gritty NEXT steps.
We shall focus on the following
Broadcast list.
Whatsapp Groups
One-To-One List
Auto responders
9. Broadcast lists…
Broadcast Lists are saved lists of message recipients that you can
repeatedly send broadcast messages to without having to select
them each time (you want to send a message).
Focus on creation of different Broadcast list. Remember each
Broadcast list can only accommodate 256 members.
Always save each contact that comes to yo inbox even if that
person is just saying HI. Ask them their names, and save in a
broadcast list where you feel they fit.
Always ask if the person has you saved in their phone, because
without that, a broadcast list can not work.
10. Broadcast list segmentation…
List segmentation is the grouping of contacts into small more discrete
groups in order to deliver to them more relevant content. You may for
example start with 3 groups;
Customers; people who have already interacted with you and made
a purchase at least once
Leads; (people who have shown interest) and not made a purchase
yet
Prospects; potential customers who have not yet shown interest
Even better, you could add location, product, language and influence
into your segmentation criteria.
11. Take Advantage of Group Chat...
Group messages are shared among all members of a group,
including responses from any participant of the group.Think
“interactive.”This is especially useful when conducting focus
groups. Or performing market studies prior to a product launch.
Collectively, the group lists in WhatsApp have exhibited more
brand loyalty than other social media groups. Similarly, brand
personas seem to have developed a good rapport with their
followers. This is reinforced with the tools mentioned above, like
push notifications, group chats, and broadcast lists.
12. Your content matters!
Since WhatsApp’s core purpose is messaging, make
your messages short and powerful. But don’t worry too
much about length. UnlikeTwitter, you’re not limited to
280 characters.
Make every word count. If your writing style and word
choices don’t resonate with your audience, you’ll see
little if any engagement.
13. Content is KING!
Remember, its not always about you. Don’t talk too much
about yourself. Use the 80/20 principle. 80% of the time on
Whatsapp should be spent delivering content that benefits
them, and 20% is about you. Don’t spend 80% talking about
your company. NO!
Of course, as with all marketing channels, you need to be
strategic. Understand how the platform works and what
people’s expectations are before you dive in.
14. QUICKTIPS!
Some quick tips;
Don't be overly promotional.
Give before you ask.
Respond to every reply in the shortest time possible. Remember
WhatsApp is an InstantMessenger
BONUS:
Keep yourWhatsapp lists healthy at all times by removing contacts
that do not open your messages or don't receive them at all.
15. Conclusion
Build a Database
Keep inTouch
Do deals
Keep ahead of your competition
