• Paulo Coelho was born on August 24,
1947 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
• He worked as a theater director,
actor, lyricist and as a journalist.
• During the 60’s and 70’s he
published unsuccessful Hell Archives.
• After success of The Pilgrimage
he wrote The Alchemist in1988. Over 65 million copies were
sold throughout the world and it won several international
awards.

sycamore tree but he is not foolish to believe such a stupid
dream.
• Santiago discovered his treasure. He went to Spain, dug
under and the tree and found the treasure.
• Decided to go Tarifa and to Fatima to fulfill his promise.
13. Expectations of writer……
• The Alchemist is much connected to our lives
• Everyone in his life has some dream, but some just
surrender it while some chase them until success.
• We should never give up and keep trying until
succeeded.
• Some people have good resources but they lack
determination and hard work.
• Many people think that “Opportunity and
determination” both are needed to achieve your
goal but in our view if we are determinant and
passionate, we will succeed in our goal.
