2. Agricultural Preparations for Kharif season
Farmer’s Workshop – 31th May
Primary occupation for livelihood of nearby communities is Agriculture & Animal Husbandry. Lakheri Cement
works is supporting farmers to enhance their productivity through promoting appropriate latest technologies.
A campaign was started before starting Kharif crop season to update the knowledge of farmers as well as to link
with different resource agencies to get the benefits of credit, Agriculture inputs and updated knowledge .
Block level farmers workshop was organized at Lakheri on 31th May, inaugurated by Mr. Umesh Pratap , Director
Plant and facilitated by the team of Agriculture scientists from Krishi Vigyan kendra , NABARD and Govt. officials
from Department of Agriculture & Horticulture and ATMA. The program was participated by 75 farmers of nearby
ten villages and get an opportunity to discuss with the resource persons.
Farmers were oriented on field preparations for crops & vegetables and developing orchards and explained
various schemes of Government & NABARD for the benefit of farmers.
Kharif Abhiyan - 2013
Under KRISHI VIKAS , a campaign was organized in Lakheri with the support of different government
departments i.e. Agriculture , Horticulture, Veterinary and Cooperatives with an objective to create mass
awareness on best practices for kharif crop cultivation and ensuring availability of Agriculture inputs. Program
was organized at each gram panchayat during 5th
– 7th
June 2013, covered all ten villages.
Facilitated the visit of govt. officials to the villages and organized village meetings , explained all technical
aspects of kharif crop cultivation and made available the certified seeds, organic culture and veterinary
medicines. Supported farmers in preparing the applications for availing benefits under various govt. schemes.
Total 485 farmers were benefitted under various schemes in the campaign.
3. Agricultural Preparations for Kharif season
Exposure visit to Krishi Vigyan kendra ( KVK), Bundi -14-20th
June
To enhance and update the knowledge of farmers of nearby villages, further coordinated with Krishi Vigyan kendra
( KVK ) Bundi and planned to facilitate training and exposure of 100 progressive farmers.
Ten progressive farmers from each villages were identified and organized their training cum exposure visit at KVK Bundi.
Flag off the departure of first batch of exposure visit by Mr. Umesh Pratap , Director Plant Lakheri and motivated farmers
to learn and implement latest technologies in their fields to enhance their production.
Total four batches of 25 farmers visited KVK Bundi and devoted a full day in observing various technologies available on
crop production practices, seed production , seed processing & packing , orchard development, vegetable cultivation ,
developing green houses & Nursery , modal Dairy farm , vermi-composting, farm equipments and organic farming etc.
It was an opportunity to the farmers to discuss and interact with Agriculture scientists and specialist of Agronomy ,
Horticulture , Entomology, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. It was a real pleasure of farmers to get the right information at
right time i.e . Before starting upcoming kharif season.
Technical Guidance & Agri-Input Distribution -19th

To promote the recommended technologies & practices to enhance agriculture productivity in nearby ten villages, we had
planned to establish demonstration units at the farmers field for kharif crops i.e Soyabeen , urd and moong focus was also
to promote the organic produces. Coordinated with the research institutes and procured good quality seeds , organic
fertilizers and fungicides. Organized one day workshop to educate farmers on field preparations for upcoming crops.
Explained and demonstrated the importance of good quality seeds , right doses of seeds & fertilizers , importance of bio
fertilizers and bio fungicides / pesticides.
Identified 75 farmers from nearby villages for establishing demonstration units at their fields. Mr. Umesh Pratap Director
Plant Lakheri distributed kit of Agri- Inputs to 75 farmers to establish demonstration units (each kit having seeds , bio
fertilizers , bio fungicides and organic culture). It had planned to provide all technical support from sowing to harvesting so
that best practices could be demonstrated to other farmers for replication in larger area in next season. Farmers had
appreciated ACC to provide such learning opportunities as well saving the cost of agri- inputs.
