2. If you are feeling dry and thirsting for life, God wants to offer you His living water. God’s 7 up! God’s 7 UP’s: There are 7 ups that a Christian must have in order to live life abundantly! “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” John 10:10.
3. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 1. Lift Up! = Jesus. John 12:32 “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, and I will draw all peoples to Myself.” Jesus the Christ was lifted up on the Cross at Calvary to draw all men unto Himself. The cross was the long for hope of the world since the creation, and the fall of man, that hour in which the final struggle between death, hell and the grave would take place. To draw YOU and ME! That the lost would come!
4. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 2. Look up! = Salvation. Luke 21:28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Here we have the hope of all men. Even when Jesus the Son of God died for the whole world, it is still our part to look to Him for our own salvation. Many believed because they saw. Later Jesus said to His disciples that blessed are those that do not see, but still believe.
5. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 3. Gather up! = Evangelism. Matthew 13:29 “But he said, 'No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.” You can take men and women to the CROSS, you can show them their need of a Saviour, BUT, you cannot MAKE them accept the Christ of Calvary. In every life there is a CROSS road, where one can turn towards God and salvation, or turn away from God, rejecting God’s grace and mercy.
6. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 4. Went up! = Prayer. Luke 9:28 “Now it came to pass, about eight days after these sayings, that He took Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.” If Jesus the Son of God took time out to pray to the Father for strength and guidance, how much should we pray? We all need mountain top experiences, where we can get away from the things of this world, so that we can be found in “heavenly places” in God.
7. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 5. Take up! = Cost. Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” You cannot buy your salvation; you cannot earn your salvation. But, it does cost you your ALL! When Jesus said “take up your cross” He is not speaking about wearing a necklace around your neck. But, a taking up of a heavenly call to live for Him.
8. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 6. Stand Up! = Service. Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” For wickedness to role, all it takes is for good men to do nothing. If we stand for nothing we will fall for anything! We are called into salvation not just to sit idle, but to serve the Lord of glory. We are daily in a battle both our salvation.
9. The “Seven Ups” for the Christian! 7. Speak Up! = Witness. Ecclesiastes 3:7 “A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” At other times we must Speak up. To tell all men everywhere, that Jesus is Lord and Saviour. For how shall they know unless we tell them? For the hour is coming when no man can tell! Then it will be too late and all will be lost!
