2. Introduction
This project is study about the design and
fabrication of pneumatic and hydraulic
punching tool.
To study pneumatics, hydraulics and dies for
punching tool.
To get familiarize with the technology on
sheet metal forming.
4. Objective of the Study
To design mechanical system of a punching tool
using hydraulic and pneumatic concepts
To punch the sheet of varying thickness at the
same time
To provide automatic feeding of metal sheet
To do the comparative study of both concepts
To perform other forming operations by changing
tool and die

For Pneumatic System
Diameter of the hole=10mm=Diameter of punch
Clearance, C=5% of thickness
Thickness of sheet, t=0.51mm
i.e. C=( 5/100 )×0.51 = 0.0255mm
Diameter of die , Dd=dp+2C =10.051mm
