Skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways,
All our lives through.
God has not promised
Sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow,
Peace without pain.
神未曾應許，
天色常藍，
人生的路途，
花香常漫。
神未曾應許，
常晴無雨，
常樂無痛苦，
常安無虞。

2. But God has promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.
神卻曾應許，
當日有力，
作工得息，
行路有亮光，
試煉得恩助，
有天堂的支援，
無盡的憐憫，
不朽的愛。
