• It will assess the company’s critical
success factors of innovation
The IMP3rove assessment

een.ec.europa.eu
IMP3rove assessment - general process
An assessment usually consists of three meetings with the company:
• Preparatory discussion: Ideally face-to-face meeting, clarification of
important key terms of innovation management and information on the
procedure - duration approx. 1-2 hours.
• Half-day assessment workshop. Ideally, representatives from business
management, development, production and sales should participate in the
assessment.
• Presentation of the results and support in the development of an
individual time and action plan - duration approx. 1-2 hours.

thoughts and ideas
• Some companies might offer you a factory tour - this is a great chance to learn more
about the company

IMP3rove Innovation Management Assessments - guide for companies
1) In a preparatory discussion with your IMP3rove guide, important key terms of innovations management are explained
and jointly defined for the practice of your company. You will also receive a table with some key metrics that you need
to prepare in advance for the smoothest possible assessment process.
2) After the preparatory discussion, you will receive an email invitation to register your company on the IMP3rove
website for an "Assisted Assessment". Please follow the supplied link and enter your company data there. This includes
the industry and sub-industry that best suits your business. This is required for the assignment to a comparison group
(benchmark).
3) Your IMP3rove guide will automatically be notified by email about your registration. She/he will then contact you to
confirm the date of the assessment, which can take place either at your company or at the organization of your
IMP3rove guide. Ideally, representatives from business management, development, production and sales should
participate in the assessment.
4) For the assessment, a meeting room with laptop/PC, internet access and a large screen or video projector is needed.
Answering the questionnaire will take around 3 hours, depending on your group's need for discussion for individual
answers. The IMP3rove guides will moderate the survey.
5) With the submission of the survey, your information is no longer changeable. Following the confirmation by your
IMP3rove guide, various IMP3rove assessment reports can be generated. Your IMP3rove guide will evaluate these reports
for you and work out important key messages for you.
6) In a results discussion about 1-2 weeks after the survey, the IMP3rove guides will present the results of the IMP³rove
Innovation Management Assessment, discuss with you starting points for concrete improvements and support you in
drawing up your individual time and action plan. You will receive a certificate from the IMP3rove Academy upon
completion the assessment.
