• Enumeration Period
• Census night count of HHs and Popn. was 21st November 2009
• Enumeration began on the 9th to the 22nd November 2009 (2 week
period)
• Reference period and date:
• Day of interview for:
- Household characteristics
- Land use
- Land tenure
- Existence of equipment owned
• The month prior to interview for consumption of crops.
• From January 1st, 2009 to the day of interview for:
- Identification of holdings operated by the same household
- Use of fertilizers and chemicals
- Crops sown and harvested
- Plot details;
• The last five years for reception of credit.

• Enumeration Method
• PAPI
• 21 EA, 9 less than that of 1989
• Agricultural Census was done by complete enumeration in 2phases:
• Phase 1: Pre-census
• Phase 2: The enumeration of households by means of 3 forms:
• Household form applied to all households;
• Holding form and Parcel form applied to households operating holdings
above the threshold.
• Post-enumeration Survey
• Estimates of land area and root crops through objective
measurement techniques to measure the physical area of the
selected parcels of land.
• Enumerating only
• 20 parcels and plots
• 10 parcels with crops currently growing in,
• 5 fallow parcels
• 5 new parcels
• Count of crops to 3 parcels with crops growing on it.
• Results revealed some differences between the areas recorded in
