 Department of Agriculture - coordinating agency for the
2011 Belize Agricultural Census
 SIB assisted with recruitment and scanning of
questionnaires
 Central Census office was in the capital city, Belmopan
 Six (6) district census offices
 Corozal

 Census Coordinators – responsible for planning and managing the
conduct of the census (training, fieldwork, payroll etc)
 District Agricultural Coordinators – oversight of the census at the
district level
 Extension Officers – four (4) in each district. Responsible for direct
supervision of the enumerators
 Enumerators – locate the households and administer the
questionnaires

 No steering committee at the national or sub-national level
 All dimensions of the census (planning, implementation etc.) was
handled by the Department of Agriculture

 Technical expertise to assist with development of questionnaire and training

 Total budget was BZ$1,000,000
