- After some verbs as:
like, love, enjoy, hate, prefer...
e.g. She loves reading poetry.
- Other verbs:
- suggest, miss, finish...
e.g.They suggested going to the
cinema.
- After prepositions:
- at, in, with...
e.g. He is interested in studying
Biology.
They are good at dancing.
- After some verbal expressions:
- don't mind, can't stand...
e.g. Her sister doesn't mind
taking the rubbish out.
- As subject of a sentence.
e.g. Apologising is necessary
after a conflict.
TO INFINITIVE
-After some verbs:
agree, want, decide, learn...
e.g. My parents decided to go to
the dentist's.
They are learning to mediate in
conflicts.
- After some expressions with
adjectives:
e.g. It's important to study
languages.
It's good to rest at weekends.
- After the indirect object of some
verbs:
e.g. He invited me to go to the
party.
The teacher wants us to work
hard
BARE INFINITIVE
- After verbs of perception:
see, hear, feel...
e.g. I can hear your dog bark.
- After verbs such as: make, let...
e.g. His dad makes him wash the
dishes.
His friends don't let him be on his
own.
- After modal verbs
can, must, could…
e.g. We must get up early on
week days.
A friend of mine can speak four
foreign languages.

Remember + ing ( referred to the past )
e.g. I don't remember meeting that man.
Remember + to infinitive (referred to the
future )
e.g. Remember to do your homework for
tomorrow.
Stop + ing ( dejar de hacer algo )
e.g. Stop making so much noise!
Stop + to infinitive ( interrumpir una acción
para hacer otra )
e.g. She stopped to have a sandwich.
