Cashback/Rebate Promotions are VAT compliant, but our VAT reclaim service means that you
may also benefit from a potentially cost-neutral promotion.
For example, a consumer electronics company runs a €50 cashback promotion in Ireland on
a digital camera at an RRP of €250. Assuming that 100,000 units are sold, and using the 25%
average redemption rate of 25,000, the potential amount of overpaid VAT is €234k. By engaging
in our services, this results in a VAT refund of approx. €164k on the entire promotion or a saving
of approx. €6.50 per claim.
Cashback vs Discount Promotions
Studies show that cashback promotions achieve very favourable sales volumes in comparison
to instore discount promotions. However, with an average redemption rate of only 25-35%,
compared to 100% with discounts, cashback is a far more cost effective option.
