lived one hundred and five years, and became the father of
Enosh. Then Seth lived eight hundred and seven years after
he became the father of Enosh, and he had other sons and

More to that thought
2 Timothy 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
In 1960, just 5% of all births occurred outside of marriage. By 1970, this share had doubled to 11%, and by 2000 fully one-third of births occurred to unmarried women. Non-marital births continued to rise until the mid-2000s, when the share of births to unmarried women stabilized at around 40%.
Today, fully 62% of children live with two married parents – an all-time low. Some 15% are living with parents in a remarriage and 7% are living with parents who are cohabiting.4 Conversely, the share of children living with one parent stands at 26%, up from 22% in 2000 and just 9% in 1960.
in adulthood as well (Amato; Howard & Reeves,).
1. A solid, intact family structure can have a significantly positive impact on a child’s present and future wellbeing and offers countless benefits for both adults and children.
2. Children growing up in homes where two parents who have been married continuously are less likely to experience a wide range of problems (academic, social, emotional, cognitive), not only in childhood but later on in adulthood as well
3. In two parent families, for example, children typically have access to more of the economic and community resources because parents are able to pool their time, money and energy; children tend to be more of the focus of the home.
4. Family intactness has also been shown to have a consistently positive influence on earnings for prime-age males and is one of the most important factors (or shared the place of greatest importance) for females and children in determining an area’s dependence on welfare programs that targets poverty.
5. Research also shows that family intactness has a beneficial influence on reducing out of wedlock births, increasing high school and college graduation rates, and even has long-term benefits such as higher employment rates.
6. Children living with married parents are more often involved in community activities such as soccer or other sports, take part in academic pursuits in local schools and other academic institutions that can lead to college, and eventually, a caree

What can we learn from this portion of scripture? The purpose of these genealogies is twofold: to record that real people lived before the Flood, and to record their physical death fulfillment of the curse. They link Creation with the Flood through 10 patriarchs

One writer has estimated that if Adam, during his lifetime, saw only half the children he could have fathered grow up, and if only half of those got married, and if only half of those who got married had children, then even at these conservative rates, Adam would have seen more than a million of his own descendants.
i. Using these calculations, we can say that by the time of the flood, there could have been seven billion people on the earth.

The importance of a godly influence
Children are precious-Psalm 127:3…Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.

Calling on the name of the Lord Doesn’t happen by chance…
So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died: Methuselah’s long life was no accident. It was because of the grace of God. When Methuselah died, the flood came. God kept him alive longer than anybody to give people as long as possible to repent.
“And he died” is the reoccurring phrase that completes the sentence on 8/9 men mentioned thus far.
Genesis 5:21–22 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Methuselah. Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters.
Lived 65 years and became a father THEN he walked with the Lord.
The most important thing you can leave your children is not a material inheritance but a spiritual inheritance
It was also about these men that Enoch, in the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which
they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
This prophecy had to be shared to be known. Most likely it was with his children. Are you sharing the things of God with your kids?
Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
How would your children describe your walk with the LORD?
Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death; AND HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP; for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God.
