4. 6- Lithophytes
(i) Epilithic. These include algae living on surface of rocks, e.g., Calothrix, Rivularia,
Gloeocapsa, Pleurocapsa, Ectocarpus, Polysiphoniaetc.
(ii) Endolithic. These include algae which live inside the rocks, e.g., Dalmatella and
Podocapsa.
