To whom it may concern:
I am writing to you on behalf of Dora Agyare, to speak on my observations of her during her time as a
temporary administrative assistant for the Pharmacy Practice Department at MCPHS University School of
Pharmacy ñ Worcester. The Administrative Assistant provides support for approximately 30 Pharmacy
Practice faculty and to the chair. As chair of this department, I am Doraís direct report. As of the writing
of this letter, I have known Dora for approximately 6 weeks and have had the opportunity to make
numerous requests of her to assist with the activities of the department and in my role as chair.
Prior to serving in this role, Dora had some familiarity while working as a temporary employee with
another department on this campus. However, she had little interaction with our department. While
working in our department, Dora has quickly learned processes and procedures unique to our department.
She has also readily sought to learn from other administrative assistants when she has encountered
activities about which she had questions. Dora has been punctual and reliable. When I have made
requests of her, she has promptly follow-up. She has readily asked for clarification when I have not been
clear with my requests.
Dora has taken initiative when she has become aware of issues for which a request for help has not been
made of her. As such, she seems to have quickly developed an understanding of what is expected of the
administrative assistantís role in this department. As I am frequently off campus, it is vital for our
administrative assistant to work independently and know when additional guidance is needed. Dora has
demonstrated that she has these abilities. She has also shown the ability to problem-solve without needing
direct supervision. Dora has been professional and pleasant in her verbal and written communications.
She is also able to communicate effectively and succinctly.
Sincerely,
Paul Belliveau, PharmD
Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Chair, Department of Pharmacy Practice
