capabilities needed to assist the US Department of Energy's Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) in
assuring uninterrupted licensure and permitting of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). The
primary function as a member of this organization team is to perform a broad range of
hydrologic, geologic, geophysical and environmental analytical support to SNL-WIPP studies, as
well as Principal Investigator (PI), for non-WIPP SBA and WFO hydrodynamic and geophysical
studies. Major responsibilities include: 1) business plan, budgetary proposal and statement of
work author, 2) overall project management and production analysis, 3) field work procedural
author and implementation, 4) student intern and contract associate supervisor and manager, 5)
local and national liaison for SNL and its mission, 6) data collection, reduction and analyses, and
7) SNL-SAND and SBA final reports author and distributor. Pertinent action items include
creating, implementing and maintaining: a) Statement of Work documents (SOWs), b) Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs), c) Specific Procedures (SPs) for laboratory equipment use, d)
Environmental Safety and Hazards (ES&H) NEPA and PHS screenings and records, e) yearly
budgets (6 years) for two SBA studies as the PI, f) Features, Events and Processes (FEPs)
records for WIPP Repository recertification, and g) implementation of appropriate laboratory
experiments and data analysis, Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and documentation.
