BUSINESS ATTRACTION | DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
MARCH 2013 COMPLETED ACTIVITIES
Orlando: The 2020 team attended the Jones Lang LaSalle Academy
in Orlando attending economic development breakout sessions and
networking with real estate and site selection professionals.
Charleston: The 2020 team attended the IAMC conference, meeting
and networking with corporate real estate professionals and
economic developers.
San Francisco/Seattle: The 2020 team conducted a business
development mission to meet with companies who are evaluating
the Columbus Region for investment as well as site location advisors.
Atlanta: The 2020 team traveled to Atlanta to hold active project
meetings with an international company looking to establish a
manufacturing operation in the Columbus Region.
Chicago: The 2020 team traveled to Chicago to network with site
selection advisors.
Japan: While on an international mission to Japan, the Columbus
2020 team conducted 19 meetings with companies evaluating the US Washington, D.C.: The 2020 team presented updates on the
market for new investment. The team also met with Columbus Columbus Region Export Plan to the Brookings Institutions and to
Region existing company headquarters. other regions participating in the Metropolitan Export Initiative.

CASE STUDY: SpeedFC
A leading provider of end-to-end e-commerce services and a
subsidiary of Navarre, SpeedFC plans to invest $3.2 million in
the Columbus Region for a new 770,000 square -foot e-
commerce distribution facility in Etna Township. SpeedFC has
operated in the Columbus Regon since 2006 and plans to
double its workforce with 250 new warehousing and Jobs: 250 created
distribution positions. Hiring for the new positions is expected Capital investment: $3.2 million
to kick off in September 2013.
Facility: Warehouse
In evaluating the Columbus Region, SpeedFC noted its
strategic geographic position as a defining factor. The new
facility is set to be fully operational in the fall of 2013.

large groups of potential customers. SalesGust's product helps
companies track and manage commission payments to business
referrals. As a result of Startup Weekend Next, SalesGust decided
