STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES
Teaching CLIL is useful to
learn new vocabulary and
to create meaningful
activities to enhance oral
comprehension and
understand other cultures.
CLIL requires a new way to
teach: a mix of different
methodologies in which
pupils are the focus of
learning.
Using new technologies and
L2 as the main language to
communicate in a real
context
Some pupils have
difficulties to understand
English. If we do Science in
English or a subject that
requires a lot of new
content and vocabulary, this
subject could be
discouraging for them.
CLIL implies a lot of
preparation to program
effectively. We must take
into account the vocabulary
and specific contents we
want to work in every
session.
To carry out the activities,
the level of learning will
have to be lower than if we
did the same activities in
the mother tongue of the
students.
