• Nuts & Bolts-Founded by Siddhartha Gautama, goal in life is to reach
Nirvana, believe in reincarnation
• Broader Impact-Appealed to members of lower rank, spread quickly
throughout Asia

8. Theravada (Hinayana)
Emphasizes meditation, Buddha not considered a god

9. Mahayana Buddhism
More complicated form of Buddhism, Buddha himself a godlike deity

10. Zoroastrianism
• Practiced by-Iranians (Sassanid Empire), Central Asians
• Nuts & Bolts-Dualistic faith (2 Gods rep. good & evil), imp. text is
Avesta
• Broader Impact-Influenced Christianity thinking

11. Judaism
• Practiced by-Hebrews (Jews)
• Nuts & Bolts-Torah is holy book (first 5 books in Old Testament)
• Broader Impact-First major monotheistic faith

12. Christianity
